Aqua Painting ๐ผ๏ธ
This afternoon was a craft session where we got the aqua painting sheets out, We gently brushed water on the pictures and watched them reveal a lovely image.
It was a very relaxing afternoon for us all. ๐

Cycling Without Age ๐ด๐ดโโ๏ธ๐ด
This morning, we had a lovely trip out with the Cycling without age team, we visited the Botanical Gardens where we looked at all the different autumnal flowers and saw the different coloured leaves on the trees and litter on the ground.
We also rode to Endcliffe Park too to have a look at all the wildlife and chatted about the history of the Sheffield rivers. ๐

Halloween Party ๐๐ป๐
This afternoon we enjoyed a Halloween themed party in the main lounge with music from Emily Capp, we enjoyed singing and dancing along to a variety of popular spooky songs as well as some old classics, there was lots of spooky fancy dress on show.
Afterwards we enjoyed a buffet tea, it was a very enjoyable afternoon all round. ๐

Pumpkin Carving and Halloween Ring Toss ๐
This morning residents enjoyed carving some pumpkins ready for our Halloween party this afternoon.
We each had our own design and afterwards we judged who had made the best one. We also had some fun playing our Halloween ring toss game, David ended up being our Halloween ring toss champion with 3 rings hitting the target.๐ฏ ๐

Motion and Balloon Tennis ๐๐๐
This morning residents enjoyed a bit of motion exercise; we had fun with some pom poms to begin with and sang a few songs such as the grand old duke of York row row row your boat.
We then got the pool noodles out and played a bit of balloon tennis, this ended up being very competitive as we tried to keep the balloon from hitting the floor. ๐คฉ

Halloween Baking ๐ป
This morning residents enjoyed a baking session, we had some gingerbread houses that we decorated with spooky icing, some chose to put a cobweb on them, otherโs chose to design a spider.
This was a very enjoyable morning and we got to taste this in the afternoon with our hot drinks. ๐

Halloween Games ๐ป๐
This afternoon residents enjoyed taking part in our Halloween games activity all around the home which was great. We had a wonderful time laughing and joking whilst throwing the rings onto the Halloween themed stands which great. We also enjoyed a little bit of friendly competition to see who could get the most hoops on the stand which was great fun. ๐คฉ

Afternoon Tea โ๏ธ ๐ฐ
This afternoon residents enjoyed gathering in the green lounge for our monthly Afternoon Tea. We had a brilliant time enjoyed tea, coffee and cakes which were delicious. We also enjoyed chatting to each other about a variety of things including past jobs and our childhoods which was really nice and everyone had a great time. ๐

Halloween crafts ๐ป๐
This afternoon residents enjoyed a relaxing session of Halloween themed crafts in which they helped make some lovely Halloween decorations for the party on Friday. This inspired laughter and reminiscence of past Halloween decorating and traditions from the residents. Some staff even found themselves participating and encouraging the residents to make the longest paper chain they could. ๐คฃ

Intergenerational Halloween morning ๐ป
This morning the residents were visited by the lovely children of Hallamshire Nursery who celebrated Halloween with them with a small Halloween party which included party games, music and Halloween themed toys. The residents loved watching the children play and joined in on their party games with a competitive spirit before giving the children some party bags to take home. A good time was had by all and the residents canโt wait for the next visit. ๐

Birthday Party ๐ฅณ๐๐
This Afternoon Residents enjoyed Avrilโs Birthday party with Nicola Farnon in the main lounge , We all enjoyed singing along with Nicola and some of us having a little dance , We enjoyed listening to Nicola play the cello and sang happy birthday to Avril and a lovely time was had by all. ๐

Both The Home Manager and Group Managers at Hallamshire Care have extensive experience of the provision and management of residential care services and of a range of other housing, care and support services for older adults.
THE HOME MANAGEMENT
The Manager of Hallamshire is Scott Melville, who has the overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home; he is qualified and is registered with the Care Quality Commission locally as the โRegistered Managerโ.
The Deputy Manager of Hallamshire is Anita Walters who is an enthusiastic and qualified individual that has had many years of experience in the Care Industry.
Before admission to the Hallamshire, we carry out a detailed assessment, often in conjunction with other health professionals, to ensure that our staff team is able to meet your care needs and that any appropriate equipment is in place. We encourage you and your family/friends to visit the Home before admission to meet staff and other residents, view the Home and your room and to allow time for us to answer any questions you may have.
We are available to help with unplanned or emergency admissions when necessary. However, where an emergency admission is required we will liaise with other health and social care professionals to ensure that we are able to meet your needs.
The home accepts both men and women generally over the age of 65 who require residential EMI Care. The home is not able to provide services for people who require 24 hour nursing care.
The home has 32 rooms, 15 of these are en-suite and some with personal shower facilities. All rooms are at over the regulation size. The home does not directly provide other services such as speech therapy or physiotherapy, but where residents have such requirements, the home will assist the resident to find such services with our extensive bank of outside professionals.
