March is Endometriosis Awareness Month 💛
Endometriosis affects around 10% of women but for far too many women, the journey to a diagnosis is long, frustrating and often dismissed.
It often takes between 7-12 years to be properly diagnosed with endometriosis, during which time symptoms are frequently misdiagnosed as “normal period pain” or overlooked entirely.
Delayed diagnosis can have a serious impact on physical health, fertility, mental wellbeing and quality of life.
Swipe to see when delays might be negligent.
At our firm, we’ve seen how missed opportunities and misdiagnoses can change lives. One of our past clients waited 15 years for a diagnosis. Owing to the delay, she needed a hysterectomy and colon resection which affected her ability to work. We were able to recover £500,000 in compensation for the delayed diagnosis.
If you or someone you know has struggled to get the right diagnosis and this has had an impact on your health, get in touch with our friendly team of legal experts to discuss your case.
