On the last day of each month , we aim to provide free fresh fruit to all of our visitors/children at handover times ! This is to encoruage healthy eating. We hope you take full advantage of this on this warm day and enjoy the warm weather !

This afternoon the pre-schoolers have done a bear hunt.
The weather has been so lovely and we are taking full advantage !
We engaged in a fully immersive sensory experience , stepping in oozy mud , the long wavy grass , the deep cold river , the swirling whirling snowstorm and the cave !

✨✨It's the end of an era !✨✨
The ' coming soon ' sign has come down ( almost 2 years later😂😂) and has been re-purposed in our pre-school garden as a washable paint wall !
The children enjoyed scrubbing it clean and then creating pretty marks which we can do over and over again😁😁😁
Thank you to all of the families who have continued to support our journey at Peaks edge ! Taking the sign down today reminded us all of where we started , to where we are now , and it's only getting better 😁😁😁

Welcome to a day in the life at Peaks Edge !🧡
- Handover 🤱 In the mornings parents/carers will leave their little ones in the arms of our caring staff. We aim to ensure parents feel reassured and calm when dropping off.
- Breakfast🥣 Our breakfast generally takes place between 8-815am. We offer a selection of cereals and a drink while being supervised by staff , to create an inviting start to the day.
-Free play opportunities🌈While we do have many opportunities through the day to engage in group activities , children are encouraged to explore independently and engage with their peers and environment.
-Snack time🍓🍇🥝-We have a healthy array of fresh fruits that are prepared twice a day for the children to have for their morning and afternoon snack. We aim to provide a different variety daily so that children get the chance to explore new foods.
- Messy play🫟🫟 If you are starting with us at Peaks, Something you should know is that you will not go home without a change of clothes ! We love to engage in messy play and believe it is a vital part of development!
Outdoor play🌿🌿- We love to go out in all weathers , however it is lovely to see the sun starting to shine ! We will be spending the majority of our time exploring activities outside in the coming months.
Dinner time🍝- We have a culturally inclusive menu that alternates weekly. This provides the children with a wide variety of nutritional meals for the children to try and enjoy.
Brushing teeth🦷-Our older children are part of the tooth brushing club and are encouraged to learn to brush their teeth in the middle of the day !
Nap time🛏️- We ensure all our little ones get a good rest under the newest eyfs safe sleep guidance.
Tea time 🥙- The children are offered a snack tea just before the end of their day.
Goodbye😄- Parents/carers receive a detailed handover about the key parts of their childs day !

Here at Peaks Edge we are proud of the diversity of the community we serve, & of all the different languages that are spoken within our setting.
Children enjoy learning words & phrases in different languages, learning about different countries, religions & festivals.
This month we are focusing on URDU.
If you speak Urdu & are able to share any stories, music, newspapers, fabrics, clothing, currency or pictures to further enrich our environment, they would be gratefully received. In addition, if you have any information about your language, or your family’s heritage that you’d like to share, please speak to one of the team; we would love to pass this on within the setting.
