Our Extra Care Facilities and How They Support our Service Users 🧡

Extra Care Facilities, otherwise referred to as 'assisted living' is housing designed for older adults. Each apartment has their own secure and private kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living space as well as communal areas for residents to socialise.

With the care services we provide, our staff are always on hand to assist, giving that extra reassurance to all our residents. For those who need extra assistance whether it's shopping, cooking, personal care or something else, care services can be arranged and scheduled for you and a routine can be created to fit around your life and preferences.

National Puzzle Day: How puzzles support our care 🧩

As a care provider we understand the positive effect puzzles can have on our brain. These simple activities keep our mind engaged, stimulated and connected.

Whether it's between service users at our extra cares or between a carer and a service user, puzzles create a sense of achievement while also building relationships, boosting confidence and inviting conversation.

For those we support with dementia, puzzles can be extra beneficial as they help reduce stress and increase cognitive function.

We're proud to support our service users like this, enhancing their cognitive health and emotional well-being.

Cervical Cancer Prevention: An important reminder for a female dominated industry 🩷

According the Eve Appeal (a UK gynaecological cancers charity) 5000 people are saved every year from developing cervical cancer through cervical screening.

Because the care industry is made up heavily by females, this cervical cancer prevention week we wanted to remind our staff of the importance of cervical screening and why it is important to attend those appointments.

Cervical cancer is known to be one of the most preventable cancers due to cervical screening and the HPV vaccination. Those aged 25 to 65 will receive a letter reminding them to book your cervical screening test through your GP.

While these tests may be daunting, it's important to look after your own health. Especially our carers, as you care for the health and well-being of others everyday, it's time to look after you.
