We are now up and running and COVID-19 secure. Increasing numbers of therapists are returning to work. Therapies currently available are acupuncture, osteopathy, counselling and psychotherapy with more to follow soon.🙂

A few enquiries have been received as to whether and when we plan to reopen. At the moment its still a bit wait and see, but I expect things to change during June when we have a bit more guidance from our insurers and governing bodies. Updates will be posted as and when we find out more.
In the meantime, I can only appologise for the inconvenience and assure all of our clients/patients we will open as soon as we can.

It is amazing how much you can do with such subtle acupuncture treatment. Have a look at this short demonstration of contact needling (no needle insertion - just touching the skin). You can experience this for yourself with Joe Robson here at Fiveways.

Toyohari style Japanese needling does not involve insertion. Instead, a silver needle is merely touched to the skin to move the Ki.

Good News. From 9th March Fiveways will be serve d by another bus service which stops right outside the centre. The 218 TM service (not Hulleys) runs from Sheffield Centre to Bakewell passing Sharrow, Psalter lane, Banner Cross, Beauchief, Totley. The service runs approximately every half hour. It will complement the existing 4/4a bus which links Sheffield and Bents green stopping right outside Fiveways. Both buses can be picked up at the interchange. Immediate Acupuncture (By Joe Robson)

Most people, unless they have had acupuncture before, come for treatment with pre-conceived ideas about what is involved. Not many realise that the effects of treatment are immediate. Change begins in the body as soon as the first needle is inserted and continues during treatment and even after treatment has ended.

The physical landscape of the body starts to improve: weak areas can be felt to become stronger and excessive muscle tension starts to release; the complexion improves; skin improves in tone and moisture; breathing becomes deeper and more regular; the pulse will improve in strength, rate and rhythm. Acupuncturists are trained to monitor and assess these changes in order to optimise treatment. Japanese styles of acupuncture in particular have many methods of 'reading' a patient through touch and observation.

These changes can often be felt by the patient as feelings of relaxation, warmth or tingling in symptomatic areas, or an easing of pain and improvement in symptoms.
Of course acupuncture will not always be an immediate cure. Simple conditions can be alleviated with 1 to 3 treatments. Those with complex and chronic ailments will require many more treatments. However, even with more difficult cases, you can have confidence that change has already taken place the moment that the first needle has been inserted.
