This is not the full story.

This most definitely isn't "new year, new you/me"

This is a (re) continuation of what (re) began last year.

Progress over perfection. Consistency carving the canyon... one step uphill after another (I don't "do running"!) - by the time my jobs today were done, it was dark and VERY cold outside, and I didn't fancy walking alone, so it was out to the rehab treadmill currently sitting in the messy garage for me!

Time to get moving and get some steps in. Nasal breathing, barefoot shoes (of course!) and a steady uphill cadence. Didn't really want to. Definitely needed to!

Health is is journey, not a destination. Sometimes it's unglamorous, awkward, uncomfortable and not what I want to do. Always feel a benefit from it though!

If you're looking for help taking steps towards your health goals (or even if you're not!) I'm back in clinic Monday 5th January for more, perhaps I'll see you there!

Got a bit wet this morning opening the shutters!

I can't believe that in 2 weeks I'll be breaking up for Christmas break! There are still a few slots available for existing clients.

I am, however, booking new clients into January 2026, as there's no further room in the diary to accommodate. Sorry!

🎄 It's the last full working week before you-know-what!

If you're booked in this week, and don't need your appointment, PLEASE let me know in good time - I am currently running a waiting list for people who desperately need to come in.

Please be aware that the usual 24 hour cancellation/reschedule policy is being rigorously enforced.

🚗 🚘 🚔 In the run up to the festivities, Sheffield City Centre traffic is, at times, absolutely HORRID.... so I advise checking your journey times in advance and planning accordingly. Being stuck in a traffic jam at this time of year DOES NOT count as "extenuating circumstances"

I know I sound grinchy (you know I'm not really!) but 40% of clients booked in for today (Monday 16th) missed their appointments or gave less than an hour notice for their cancellation 😭 - which denied people on the waiting list a chance to come in.

Of the 60% that turned up, over half of those were over 10 minutes late for their appointment.

Running a small independent business is already challenging enough, and fixed overheads need paying - please help me keep my rates as reasonable as possible (and also helping me reduce practitioner burnout) by adhering to the terms of our agreement.

If you need an appointment, and can't see one online, please message me and I can add you to the waiting list 😊

Question: can I bring my child with me?
Answer: ABSOLUTELY 💯!

As a family chiropractor I get asked this question a lot!

I realise that not every one has childcare available, either by choice or necessity. Little people are always welcome 🙏 ☺

We have plenty of toys available for our younger visitors, whether they are coming with parents/care providers or attending as clients in their own right. 🚗 🧸

Babies have their own cushions to lie on too, if a break from the car seats is needed. 👶

Although sometimes the clinic has a creche-like feel to it (particularly on the morning shifts!) more than a clinic feel, that comes with the remit of family chiropractic... Fun with a slight edge of organised chaos comes with the territory!

I'm in the process of sorting out the toy box, - what would you like to see as an added? What would you like to see kept? Open to suggestions! (Don't worry, the helicopter and post box are still staying!) 🚁 📫

Shout out to the fabulous Daddy who came in yesterday and started reading the book on the table to his toddler son whilst Mummy was being adjusted 🤣 💩

p.s. yes, it DID all get tidied up!

☕ Never underestimate the joy of new mugs...

🍵 Tea or coffee? Well, personally, it's a decent coffee for me (aeropressed!)

Although... caffeine in moderation only, and never after lunch (Otherwise, falling and staying asleep can be problematic)

Personally, I don't go above 2 mugs a day, because it leads me to get jittery and anxious - signs of nervous system dysregulation, taxing the body too much.

💧 I also make sure I take in other fluids during the morning, to make sure I'm hydrated - water (with some electrolytes) and collagen are also usually seen sitting on my desk alongside the coffee cup.

☕ 🍵 If you have a mug with a word or phrase on it, what does it say? I'm curious!! (And a bit nosey!!!)

Last weekend, I went to 2 events at - the 1st was an upskill day, with the fabulous and talking about accountability and action.

This is me, taking action and being accountable to MY health and strength, so that I can help you with yours.

Sunday sweaty selfie after core workout with bands and weights... jeepers, I hadn't realised how much I'd let myself decondition - quite embarrassing really, especially as a health care professional...

There is a HUGE difference between being able to prescribe the movment and exercise from a position of knowledge, vs embodied knowing.

Anyone else want to join me? We can help keep each other accountable!

Hello! There are some important changes coming up at the clinic.

Our associate chiropractor, Kate, has been offered an exciting opportunity to join another clinic and will no longer be with us. Kate's final shift at S1 Chiropractic will be on Thursday, 3rd October, and there are a limited number of appointments available with her before she departs. If you’d like to see her before she leaves, I recommend booking as soon as possible.

In addition, receptionist Sarah has also accepted a new role as a practice manager at the new clinic. Sarah’s last day at S1 Chiropractic will be Thursday, 26th September.

While I will miss them both, I want to reassure you that I remain fully committed to your care. I will be adjusting my working hours to better accommodate your needs and will work with you to find suitable appointment times. However, due to diary pressures, appointment slots tend to fill quickly, so I highly recommend booking in advance wherever possible.

The clinic will be transitioning to a staffless micropractice, supported by a virtual reception service to manage bookings and enquiries. I have also been working hard with our clinic service provider on our new client facing app, which will make it easier for you to book appointments and get in touch with me.

Thank you for your continued trust and support. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. I look forward to seeing you at your next appointment and sharing more about the exciting updates ahead.

AstroTurf is one of the WORST surfaces for playing sports...

My son twisted his knee very badly at school on Friday, his foot went one way, the rest of him went the other... school nurse dismissed it saying "you'll get over it"... turns out, it's an injury to his lateral collateral ligament that will rule him out of rugby with and martial arts for a while, and probably see him miss selection for the school rugby team (that's his sport of choice...)

My son doesn't realise how lucky he is to have a chiropractor as a Mum - I have a separate stash of , and Activator, drop piece and portable bench and also my mini box at home. collagen and are also proving useful in helping the healing.

PLEASE don't gaslight children and their aches and pains, every stage is critical for healthy development and strength, and movement patterns that are disrupted early invariable carry and echo forwards into adulthood.

I'm here to help (but until the child heals, the red light box stays at home...)
