Grand opening of our Digital Autopsy Facility at Royal Bolton Hospital β¨
We are proud to announce that Royal Bolton Hospital is now the first location in Greater Manchester to carry out digital autopsies, revolutionising how post-mortems are conducted.
In partnership with Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, Bolton Council, Senior Coroner Tim Brennand and the Manchester West Coronial Service, our cutting-edge CT scanning suite reduces the need for invasive procedures by 75%. This means families can receive answers faster and their loved ones can be released sooner, minimising the emotional impact on families during a difficult time.
Here are the highlights:
- Non-invasive digital imaging allows pathologists to determine causes of death with less physical intervention.
- Faster results: Reports are often delivered within hours instead of days.
- Enhanced dignity and care for families during an incredibly challenging time.
The facility, officially opened by Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, is a landmark moment for the region and one of only a few of its kind in the UK.
Andy Burnham summed it up perfectly:
"This advancement has future-proofed the way deaths are investigated in Greater Manchester, offering far more dignity for all those involved."
We are proud to work alongside Bolton Council, the Coronerβs Office, and Bolton NHS Foundation Trust to make this possible.
At Digital Autopsy UK, we are committed to bringing innovation and compassion together, ensuring families can navigate one of lifeβs most difficult moments with greater ease and dignity.
