There are a lot of things we might worry will be said out loud…

“That doesn’t make sense”
“You’re overreacting”
“Why are you like that?”
“Just get over it”

And yet, so many of us carry those words internally already.

Therapy isn’t about reinforcing that voice.

It’s about gently making space for something different…
curiosity instead of criticism
understanding instead of judgement
compassion instead of shame

We get to unlearn the idea that we have to be less, quieter, or easier to be accepted.

We don’t need to be “fixed” to be met.

Whether in therapy, friendships or community spaces — feeling understood can be deeply healing. You don’t have to do life alone.

Balancing being a therapist and a mum means holding space for others… while also being a literal milk machine 🫠

Between clients, workshops, and life, there’s feeding/ pumping, admin, house work, and the mental load of it all. Some days it flows, some days it really doesn’t.

However you feed your baby; by choice or not, this juggle is real. No judgement, just solidarity 🤍

Healthy relationships aren’t conflict-free. They’re built on repair, accountability and reconnection.

Real life?
We’re holding space for big emotions… running on interrupted sleep… and occasionally reheating the same cup of coffee three times ☕️

We can be therapists and tired.
Present and in need of a moment.
Holding others and needing support ourselves.

There’s no perfect way to show up as a human… only a real one.

So yes… sometimes we bring the empathy and the caffeine.

Both are valid.

There are antenatal classes for birth.

But very little for what happens after.

That’s why I’m so pleased to be bringing Nobody Warned Me – The Emotional Reality of Life After Baby to Mama’s Who Brunch on 24th April at Bravo Cafe and Play in Newmarket.

A relaxed, baby-friendly mini workshop with therapeutic activities to support mums’ emotional wellbeing.

Not therapy.
Just honest reflection and a space to feel less alone.

If you’ve heard lovely feedback about my walk-and-talk sessions, this brings that same warm energy into a brunch setting ☕💛

Limited spaces available — book your ticket via Mama’s Who Brunch.

That moment when a client says, “I think I’ve overshared and weirded you out…”

And I’m like… you haven’t weirded me out; you’ve weirded me in.

(I don’t have favourites… but if I did…)

Honestly, there’s very little you could say that would shock me. You’re safe to be all of you here.
