Old Shenfield Place

Old Shenfield Place Residential Care Home in the Heart of Shenfield, Essex With roads leading to London and Colchester, Shenfield is well connected to the neighbouring area.

Old Shenfield Place is a beautiful Edwardian building situated in the heart of Shenfield, a quiet town and former village surrounded by beautiful scenery. Not far from the train station and bus routes, our care home is easily accessible whether you are travelling from far away or just around the corner. We know that moving into a care home can sometimes be a difficult transition, but regular visit

s from family and friends can make all the difference. We encourage our residents to enjoy each others’ company and all our local area has to offer, and to never say no to some fresh air and a nice hot drink in our local cafes. Connectivity is hugely important to us here at Old Shenfield, which is why we have a mobility-friendly vehicle available to support our residents in getting out and about whenever possible. For us, it is vital our residents and their families have the ability to choose how and where they spend their time.

Our trip to Hopefield Animal Sanctuary in Brentwood was a very special day for our residents.

They enjoyed seeing the many rescued animals, including llamas, alpacas, ducks, pigs, horses, guinea fowl, pheasants, goats, parrots, rabbits, cats and many more 🐮🐰🐴🐐🐈🐓🦜🦆.
It was a lovely opportunity to spend time outdoors and experience something different together.

Afterwards, they spent the rest of the afternoon at the Hopefield Café, where they enjoyed tea, coffee and cake.

A wonderful afternoon enjoyed by all.

Over the past few weeks, our residents at Old Shenfield Place have been busy crafting beautiful handmade flowers, as shared in previous posts. 🌸

These creations became part of a meaningful art piece for the Easter Garden at St. Thomas’ Church in Brentwood. This past week, some residents had the opportunity to visit the church and see the finished display — a special moment to see their creativity come together.

During the visit, residents also lit candles in honour of the Holy Season, taking a quiet moment for reflection. 🕯️

We’re incredibly proud of their creativity and the lovely contribution they made to our local community.

Please enjoy this video capturing their journey from crafting the flowers to finally seeing the finished piece. 💛

🐰🐣A reflection into the wonderful time the residents had over Easter.
The day was filled with laughter and friendly competition, with loved ones present to share in the celebrations. Activities included an egg and spoon race, guess the bunny’s name, guess how many eggs, pin the tail, and a cheerful sing-along. The Easter raffle also brought excitement, with residents eagerly taking part.

The celebration was topped off with delicious chocolate cake and tea, giving everyone the chance to relax, chat, and enjoy the special occasion together. It was lovely to see residents and their loved ones engaged, smiling, and making happy memories.🐣🐰🥚🧺

This Easter, we’re sending warm wishes from all of us at Premium Care Group.🩷🐰We’re truly grateful to support the people...

This afternoon, we made the most of the season by bringing a touch of gardening indoors, planting a selection of flowers in pots together. Residents enjoyed getting their hands in the soil, sharing conversations, while spending time in the warm environment.

We’re excited to watch them grow and bring colour and life to our home environment in the coming weeks 🌸

We had a wonderful afternoon at the Dementia ‘Time for a Cuppa’ event at Chelmsford City Racecourse ☕🍰

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the tea, cake, fun activities, and the chance to meet a horse, as well as some very friendly support dogs. We also got to connect with our sister home Weald Hall Care Home. It was such a warm and welcoming space with great support available for those living with dementia.

A big thank you to the hosts for putting on such a lovely and meaningful event, our residents had a brilliant time 💜
