Science Project 🌍🪐

Residents and team members at the Burlington recently spent time together working on a special science project. With plenty of creativity and teamwork, they created their very own solar system display. Every planet was carefully made using simple materials that both residents and staff helped to gather, making it a real group effort from start to finish. ✨

Activities like this are a lovely way to spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and keep minds active. It also gave everyone a chance to chat, share ideas, and enjoy the satisfaction of building something together.

The finished display is now proudly hanging in are art and craft room in the Burlington, and it has already started plenty of conversations about space and the wonders of the universe.

Moments like these help residents stay engaged, connected, and inspired while enjoying meaningful activities together. 💚

Last week at the Burlington 🌸

Residents enjoyed a lovely afternoon creating beautiful flower arrangements together. There was plenty of conversation around the table as everyone shared their thoughts about different flowers, favourite colours, and memories of gardens they have enjoyed over the years. 🌷

Activities like flower arranging are a wonderful way to encourage creativity while also supporting wellbeing. Handling the flowers, choosing colours, and arranging them just the way they like helps keep hands active and minds engaged. Just as importantly, it gives everyone the chance to relax, chat, and enjoy each other’s company.

It was a calm and cheerful afternoon that everyone really enjoyed, and the finished arrangements looked absolutely lovely around the home. 💐

Our residents at the Burlington were delighted to welcome Jubilee Church Shepperton, for a very special Christian celebration.

The home was filled with the uplifting sound of much-loved hymns, heartfelt singing and the comfort of familiar Bible stories 📖🎶

There’s something truly powerful about music and shared faith — it sparks memories, encourages conversation and brings a wonderful sense of peace and belonging.

Seeing residents singing along, sharing reflections and enjoying time together was incredibly special. It’s these joy-filled moments that remind us that care is so much more than support . It’s about creating a place where everyone feels valued, uplifted and truly at home.

Thank you to Jubilee Church and Pastors Keith and Andrew for sharing your time and warmth with us. We’re already looking forward to the next visit 🙏💚

It’s lovely to look back on the special moments we shared on Mother’s Day. 💐

Our residents enjoyed a relaxed afternoon tea together, filled with conversation, laughter, and plenty of sweet treats. The afternoon became even more special with a beautiful live performance from Acoustic Bliss from mack entertainment. Who sang and played the guitar for everyone to enjoy. 🎶🎸

Music has a wonderful way of bringing people together and sparking memories. Many residents were tapping their feet, singing along, and sharing stories about their favourite songs. Moments like these are a simple but meaningful way to support wellbeing, connection, and a sense of togetherness.

A truly lovely afternoon spent celebrating mums and the special people in our lives. 💚

Creativity was flowing beautifully this week 💚🎨

It was so lovely to see so many of our residents coming along to join Peggy for a wonderful art lesson. With colours blending and creativity shining, the room was filled with concentration, chatter and lots of proud smiles 😊✨

Creative activities like this support fine motor skills, encourage self-expression and provide a calming, mindful experience that helps boost confidence and overall wellbeing. Most importantly, they bring everyone together for shared moments of joy and connection 💚

A big thank you to Peggy for guiding such a fantastic session — we think there may be a few hidden artists in our midst! 🎨🌟

This week is Nutrition and Hydration Week (16–22 March), an annual celebration to highlight and promote improvements in nutrition and hydration across the UK. And we're marking it in the most delicious way possible. ☀️🍓

Good food and drink are about so much more than nutrition, they spark conversations, bring people together, and offer comfort. That's why we've created four signature smoothies, each one inspired by the unique personality and spirit of our care homes. 🫶

Every ingredient has been chosen not just for flavour, but for the benefits it bring, supporting hydration, brain health, heart health, and overall wellbeing. Because at Boutique Care Homes, we believe care is about nourishing the whole person: body, mind, and soul. 🙌

Discover all four smoothie recipes and the stories behind them here: https://www.boutiquecarehomes.co.uk/nutrition-and-hydration-week-signature-smoothies-inspired-by-boutique-care-homes/

Which smoothie would you try first? 🥤💚

Get ready for an afternoon full of laughter, treats and feel-good fun… Red Nose Day at The Burlington Care Home is coming! ❤️🎉

We’re hosting a fabulous Red Nose Day Fundraiser on Friday 20th March from 11:00am to 4:00pm in the Piano Bar, and we’d absolutely love for our residents, families and friends to join us in raising as much as we can for this wonderful cause. 💚

Here’s what we’ve got planned…

🔴 Pin the Red Nose on Home Manager Margie
Can you get closest to Margie’s nose? There’s a prize waiting for the sharpest guess!

🍬 How Many Red Sweets Are in the Jar?
Take your best guess and you could win if you’re nearest!

🏓 Red Ball Bounce Challenge
How many bounces can you manage? It’s trickier than it looks… and there’s a prize for the highest score!

🍰 Delicious Cake Sale
Treat yourself to something sweet while supporting a brilliant cause – because cake always tastes better when it’s for charity!

Fundraising events like this are such a special part of our Life Enrichment Programme. They encourage friendly competition, spark laughter, bring generations together and create that wonderful sense of community spirit – all while supporting something bigger than ourselves ❤️

We’d love to see as many smiling faces as possible, so please do come along and join the fun. Loved ones are very welcome to take part too! And if anyone would like to donate a cake for the sale, we’d be hugely grateful 🧁💚

Let’s wear our red with pride and make it a day to remember!

There was a lovely buzz at The Burlington during our recent Baking Club.

Residents rolled up their sleeves and made a selection of delicious pies, all from scratch. Everyone enjoyed getting involved and choosing the fillings while sharing their baking skills.

As the pies came together, the room filled with conversation about how everyone used to make pies at home. Residents chatted about family recipes, Sunday baking and the little tips that make a pie just right. Moments like this are wonderful for sparking memories and encouraging conversation, while also keeping hands busy and minds active.

Of course, the best part was enjoying the finished pies together. Safe to say they went down very well. 😊
