✨ Beautiful Brooch Making at The Burlington! ✨

Creativity was in full bloom this week as our residents enjoyed a wonderfully detailed brooch-making session 🌸💖

Each brooch was carefully crafted — some residents designed their own sparkling creations to wear with pride, while others lovingly made theirs as special gifts for friends and family 🎁💐

It was such a delicate and mindful activity, full of laughter, concentration, and that lovely sense of accomplishment when you see your finished piece shining in your hand 🪡✨

Moments like these remind us how meaningful creativity can be — not just in what we make, but in the joy it brings while we’re making it 💕

🎀 Pretty in Pink at The Burlington! 🎀

Last Friday, our home was filled with pink smiles, pink treats, and plenty of pink spirit as we came together to support Breast Cancer Now 💕

It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating awareness for such an important cause — with residents and team members dancing, singing, and tucking into the most delicious pink cakes and sweet treats 🍰✨

Together, we also helped to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now, supporting the incredible work they do for people affected by breast cancer 💗

Beyond the fun and laughter, the day was a beautiful reminder of how powerful community can be when we come together with kindness and care 🌸

A huge thank you to everyone who joined in, dressed up, and helped turn The Burlington bright pink for the day! 💕

Say hello to Crispen, one of our brilliant Housekeepers here at The Burlington! 🧹✨

Crispen joined us in December 2023, and his caring nature and passion for people truly shine through every day. 💛

What he loves most about his role?

“Ensuring a clean and safe environment gives me a real sense of fulfilment. I love knowing I’m helping make our residents’ stay more comfortable — and those little chats we share always make my day!” 💬😊

You’ll not only find Crispen making sure our residents’ home is sparkling clean and comfortable — he’s often found having a little dance 💃, sharing a chat 💬, or simply bringing smiles wherever he goes. 😄✨

We’re also so proud of Crispen for achieving his Diploma in Adult and Social Care, a qualification he completed with the support of our home 👏 — a wonderful reflection of his dedication and heart for care.

Thank you, Crispen, for bringing your warmth, pride, and positivity to The Burlington family. You truly make our home shine, inside and out! 💖✨

🌟 Meet the Team Monday – Aniko 🌟

Say hello to Aniko, one of our wonderful Team Leaders here at The Burlington 💛

Aniko has been part of The Burlington family for 5 years, working across the whole home in various roles. Before joining us, she worked in domiciliary care – and we feel so lucky she chose to bring her passion and kindness into our community 🏡✨

When we asked Aniko what she loves most about her role, her answer was simple but so special: cheering up our residents and making their day enjoyable. For her, the best sign she’s done her job well is hearing laughter ringing through the home – and we can all agree she brings endless smiles and joy to our residents’ lives each and every day 💕

Thank you, Aniko, for all that you do – your warmth, dedication and positivity make The Burlington truly feel like home. 🥰

👂💬 A huge thank you to Anne from RNID who joined us at The Burlington last week to give a truly insightful talk to our residents.

Anne shared so much valuable information, including:
✨ An introduction to RNID and their wonderful work
✨ Understanding deafness, hearing loss and tinnitus
✨ How to do a simple hearing check
✨ Where to find support through RNID

Our residents really enjoyed learning more about how to look after their hearing health and felt reassured knowing there’s such fantastic support available. 🧡

Moments like these remind us how important it is to connect our communities with organisations who can make a real difference to everyday wellbeing.

We’ll be raising awareness and showing our support for Breast Cancer Now, with the wonderful Rosie joining us to fill the home with her beautiful singing. 🎤🌸

🧶❤️ Our wonderful residents have been busy with their knitting needles, creating beautiful poppies to support a very special community project for Shepperton High Street. 🌺✨

It’s been such a joyful and meaningful activity, with everyone chatting away while their hands worked carefully to bring these little tokens of remembrance to life. We can’t wait for you to see the finished piece proudly displayed in our community. It’s going to be something truly heart-warming. 💕

Don’t forget – our next Stroke Support Group is happening on Tuesday 14th October, 11am–12pm here at The Burlington 🗓️✨

Whether you’re looking for some friendly advice, or simply a welcoming space to enjoy a cup of tea and a chat, you’ll be in good company. This month, we’re delighted to be joined by Kieran from the Stroke Association, who’ll be on hand to answer your questions and offer guidance.
