Ideas were flowing at The Burlington as everyone gathered to plan out a canvas design with Peggy 🎨🐾

After chatting through different thoughts together, the group settled on an animal theme. There was plenty of discussion around colours, shapes, and which animals would make their way onto each canvas. Choices were passed around, compared, and swapped until everything felt just right.

It’s always lovely seeing ideas build like this, with everyone contributing in their own way and the conversation carrying the activity along.

A big thank you to Peggy for coming in and helping guide the session alongside residents. 💚

A creative, relaxed time that left everyone looking forward to seeing the finished pieces come together. 😊

The taste tester challenge made its way to The Burlington, and it didn’t take long for the conversations to get going 👃🍓

From sweet to savoury, different drinks and familiar favourites, residents had a go at guessing just by smell and taste. There were a few surprised reactions, some confident guesses, and a bit of back and forth when opinions didn’t quite match up.

It’s the kind of activity that gets people thinking and talking without even realising. It builds connection, sparks memories, and gives everyone something to share, even if the answers aren’t quite right. 💚

One of those moments where curiosity takes over and the room comes alive in its own way. 😊

Looking back at our coffee morning at The Burlington, the room didn’t stay quiet for long once the music started ☕🎶

Marianna from Mack Entertainment brought an ABBA tribute, and before long people were up on their feet, singing along and finding the rhythm in their own way. Some knew every word, others joined in on the chorus, but the energy in the room just kept building. 💃

Moments like this bring people together so easily. There’s connection, confidence, and a real sense of everyone being part of something shared, all through familiar music. 💚

A big thank you to Marianna for bringing it all to life. One of those mornings that stayed with us. 😊

Care costs are one of the biggest concerns families face when considering a care home.

Who actually pays? Does the house have to be sold? Is there any state help, even if you're self-funding?

We’ve invited Nicky Cave from Eldercare Group to answer those questions — and more.

Free, independent, and explained without the jargon.

While this event is being hosted at Chartwell House, we warmly welcome families and community members connected to The Burlington to join us as well.

If you're local to The Burlington or would benefit from this information, you're very welcome to attend online.

The sound of the saxophone drifted through The Burlington last week, with Groove Sax from Mack Entertainment setting the tone 🎷

Residents gathered, some tapping their feet, others sitting back and taking it all in. There was a steady rhythm in the room, the kind that gets people moving without really thinking about it. A few quiet smiles, a few nods along to the music. It felt easy, familiar. 💚

Moments like this bring everyone together in their own way. No big build-up, just good music filling the space and people enjoying it side by side. Sometimes that’s all it takes.

There was plenty going on at The Burlington last week as Browells Pet therapy from Mack Entertainment came in with a whole mix of animals 🐾

Residents spent time getting up close, chatting to them, feeding them, and taking it all in. You could hear little bits of conversation here and there, memories coming back from years ago, stories about pets they’d had and moments they hadn’t thought about in a while. 💚

It wasn’t rushed or structured, just people moving at their own pace, spending time where they felt comfortable. Some stayed a while, others kept coming back for another look.

A big thank you to Browells Pet therapy for sharing such a gentle, meaningful visit with everyone.

Harry was back at The Burlington, and it didn’t take long for the room to settle into the sound of his voice 🎶

There’s something about it that just draws people in. Smiles started to spread, a few toes tapping along under tables, and before long, quiet singing joined in from different corners of the room 💚

A simple afternoon, lifted by music, good company, and a voice that people were already asking to hear again 🎤

Flour on the tables, sleeves rolled up, and everyone getting stuck in making their own pizzas from scratch 🍕

There were chats about favourite toppings, a few strong opinions on how much cheese is too much, and plenty of laughs as dough took on all sorts of shapes. Some kept it classic, others got a bit more creative, but every pizza had its own story behind it. You could see the focus, the little moments of pride, and that quiet happiness as they came out of the oven 🍕

It’s not just about the food. It’s the sharing, the choice, and the chance to do something side by side that makes it feel good. Days like this have a way of bringing people together without trying too hard 💚

Nigel took us on a trip back to Britain in the 60s, covering 1964 to 1966. 🎶🖼️

The talk was full of music, pictures, and little details about life in those years that kept everyone interested.

People enjoyed spotting familiar songs, fashions, and events, and it sparked plenty of smiles and memories along the way. It was a lovely chance to remember and share stories together.

A big thank you to Nigel for coming in and bringing this to The Burlington. Everyone left feeling a little more connected to those times. 💚
