They are currently in need of donations, and every item makes a difference 🫶

On 29th January, we marked World Puzzle Day with the most wonderful twist 🧩😊

We were delighted to welcome pupils from Saxon Primary School to The Burlington, where they joined our residents for some intergenerational puzzle fun, and what a joy it was! 💛 From working together to solve puzzles to sharing laughs along the way, the room was filled with smiles from ear to ear 😄✨

Moments like these remind us just how special connections between generations can be ... lots of teamwork, chatter, and heart-warming memories made 🥰 Such good fun for everyone involved!

💙 Stroke Support Group… with a little twist! 💙

Join us next Tuesday 10th February at 11am for our Stroke Support Group, and this month, we’re doing things a little differently 👀✨

We’re gently mixing in some chair-based exercises 🪑🤸‍♀️ Perfect for building confidence, boosting mobility, and getting bodies moving at a pace that feels comfortable for everyone.

💬 Why movement matters:
Regular exercise plays a vital role both before and after a stroke, helping to improve strength, balance, circulation, and overall wellbeing. Most importantly, it supports independence and confidence, one small movement at a time 💪💙

Whether you’re living with the effects of a stroke, supporting a loved one, or simply want to learn more in a friendly, welcoming space, we’d love to see you there.

Expect encouragement, smiles, and a few gentle stretches along the way 😊

Pizza pinwheels at the ready! 🍕👩‍🍳✨

Now this was a seriously tasty afternoon treat 😋 Our Baking Club got stuck in, each taking on our very own task, from rolling and filling to sprinkling the finishing touches. Proof that teamwork really does make the dream work 💪❤️

Made with love (and plenty of smiles!), these delicious pinwheels were enjoyed by everyone… and yes, they tasted just as good as they looked! 🍕😄

Oh wow… what an afternoon it was! 🎤✨

We were all shook up earlier this week at The Burlington as the one and only Elvis Presley (well… our brilliant Elvis tribute!) took to the mic and had everyone smiling from ear to ear 💃🕺 From toe-tapping classics to plenty of singalong moments, it was an absolutely fabulous performance.

Our residents loved every second. Clapping, singing, and soaking up the music together 🎶❤️ Proof that a little Elvis really does go a long way!

Thank you for such a fantastic afternoon… we’re still talking about it! 😄✨

🎹☕ The return of Angus, our amazing pianist! ☕🎹

Our recent coffee morning at The Burlington was simply wonderful – full of yummy treats, plenty of cuppas, and the perfect soundtrack thanks to the incredible music from Angus 🎶💛

It was such a joyful morning, and it reminded us how lovely it is to come together, chat, and enjoy a little live music with friends old and new.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to Bigmore Wills and Probate for joining us at The Burlington last week 🙏✨

They delivered a really informative and easy-to-understand talk on the importance of having a Will and Power of Attorney, and we all learned so much. It sparked some thoughtful conversations and gentle reminders about how important it is to look after ourselves – and the people we love most 💭💞

We had such a lovely time getting creative with our hot air balloon arts and crafts at The Burlington 🖌️✨ From colouring cheerful hot air balloons to painting beautiful canvases, our residents truly let their imaginations soar.

We love painting, colouring, and anything creative – especially when it brings smiles, calm moments, and a sense of pride in what’s been created 💕 The finished pieces are now coming together to make a gorgeous display that brightens our home and celebrates the talents of our residents.

Proof that a splash of colour, a little creativity, and good company can lift spirits sky-high 🎈💫

💙☕ Turning Brew Monday into something brighter ☕💙

Monday 19th January marked Brew Monday, often known as one of the toughest Mondays of the year, when the winter blues can feel a little heavier than usual. But here at The Burlington, we believe even the gloomiest days deserve a moment of warmth and connection 💫

Our residents and team came together for a lovely afternoon filled with heartfelt conversations, scrumptious treats, and (of course!) a good old cuppa 🫖🍰 There was laughter, stories shared, and that comforting feeling that comes from simply sitting together and enjoying each other’s company.

Because sometimes, all it takes is a warm drink, a friendly face, and a proper chat to turn a blue Monday into something rather special 💙✨
