Having just returned from maternity leave with baby number 2 (Fern!), I will now be running Hypnobirthing essentials classes in conjunction with the lovely Kayleigh @ The Nurtured Nest in Hersham. A fantastic opportunity to meet other parents-to-be in the area and learn all about how Hypnobirthing can make a huge difference to your experience of labour and birth.

Our second exciting announcement of the day!

I'm super excited to be partnering with the lovely Tami.

Tami is a midwife and a local mum of 2 and will be offering Hypnobirthing courses at The Nurtured Nest.

Hypnobirthing has so many wonderful benefits in helping you to feel calm and ready for your baby's upcoming birth and can be used across different birthing situation. Tami's experience as a midwife means that you are in safe end very experienced hands.

Friendship was so vital to me when I had both of my girls and I don't know what I would have done without my mum friends.

Knowing this we have added on a Newborn Nurture Workshop with me to the end of your course. Once all of the groups babies are here we meet back up again at The Nurtured Nest for some newborn baby massage, settling techniques and newborn care.

You can book both the 4 hour Hypnobirthing course and Newborn Nurture for only £150.00

Breastfeeding is the normal way to feed your baby. BUT, it is a skill that you and your baby have to learn together. This takes time. In fact it can take a few weeks (or more) to get to grips with everything! Normal does't mean the same as 'natural'!

Well hello there! We've been a little quiet of late as we took a break from social media. You know how it is - sometimes you get a little facebook/insta/tweeted out. But we're still here. Doing our thing. Caring for women. Providing ace postnatal support. Maybe the occasional birth (we're investing in some wine time at the moment to - did we forget to mention that?). And loving what we do every damn day!!

Today we received the devastating blow that independent midwives lost the case against the NMC. North Surrey Midwives will continue to offer antenatal and postnatal care to our clients, as we explore all our options over the coming months. Thank you for all of your support over the past 12 months as we fought to protect true independent midwifery.

We are devastated to have to tell you all that our legal challenge of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has been unsuccessful. The cou...

The Mariposa Trust is one of the UK’s leading charities, with its core objective being to support people who have lost babies at any stage of pregnancy, at birth, or in infancy. On the 26th November at 3.30pm in Methodist Central Hall in Westminster, the trust is holding its 100th Saying Goodbye service. Sharing this for all those women who have lost babies, and especially holding in our hearts the women we have cared for who experienced such a loss.

Good luck today. To the claimants who have put their names, livelihood and reputation on the line,Thankyou. You are brave and we admire you all for taking this on. Without all of you there would be no case. Thankyou for doing this for us, and for women. To the board of IMUK and all other colleagues who have given time and energy to this cause,we thank you. To the supporters and those who've donated, rallied and spread the word, Thank you. Today, tomorrow and the coming weeks are massive for the future of professions who are regulated, midwives, nurses, women and families. We are so hopeful justice will prevail.

Tip of the day: new mummies, it's OK to go back to bed in the middle of the day. It's OK to stay in your PJ's if want to. It's OK to cuddle your baby as often as you like. Having a new baby is flipping hard work and there are no badges for 'doing it all'!
