Carpal tunnel began to shape Humphrey’s nights and his everyday independence. Sleep was interrupted, routine activities felt harder, and he felt he had little support from his GP. He decided to explore private care in Somerset.

A £95 consultation gave him clear explanations and time to ask questions. He chose surgery, and a cancellation meant an earlier date than expected. The experience felt calm and efficient. Stitches were removed at his GP after 10 days, and recovery was quick. Movement returned, confidence returned, and he went back to the gym.

Humphrey’s journey shows how information, choice and timely treatment can change life after symptoms have taken hold.

Paul’s persistence preserves his eyesight!👀✨

Paul was diagnosed with wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) during a routine optician visit. Thanks to monthly injections and the dedication of the ophthalmology team at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet, Paul has been able to maintain his vision and continue doing the things he loves!🚗🎨

🎄 Christmas Governance Day at Practice Plus Group 🎄

Monday our teams came together for a fantastic Christmas Governance Day filled with learning, laughter and lots of festive spirit! ✨

Our staff proudly wore their Christmas jumpers, enjoyed a delicious Christmas meal together, and took part in a full day of valuable training. One of the highlights was our departmental gingerbread competition — and the creativity this year was incredible!

🏆 Congratulations to our winning team, who crafted an amazing gingerbread replica of our soon-to-open Mendip Unit, complete with a patient in a procedure room. A brilliant and festive nod to the exciting developments ahead for our hospital.
