🧑 "Hi Antonia. Thank you so much for today. It was so thoughtfully put together and really captured who A was. I know you had to read between the lines a bit when we met, but it felt like you knew him, and everyone could relate to the A they knew. Thanks again. Your time and care was very much appreciated."

I'm fortunate enough to still have my mother, but this woman - my incredible Mother-in-law, died last year. She was like a second Mother to me - complete with invaluable advice, life-affirming hugs, and at times a lack of patience that showed where her soft pedal ended and the line most definitely began! πŸ˜† She was one in a million, and I miss her so much. Happy Mother's Day to all the mums out there. Biological ones, adoptive ones, step ones - all of you. And if, like me, you're missing someone today in particular, just remember the love that you felt for each other and know how very lucky you are to have experienced it. 🧑

Before patriarchal times, Friday the 13th was considered the day of the Goddess. It was a day to honour the Divine Feminine and the cycles of creation, death, and rebirth. As such, it's a pretty powerful day to hold a funeral. I don't believe in coincidence - more serendipity - and whenever Friday 13th rolls around, I am always asked to take a funeral. Fitting, somehow, to be asked to bring in the light on a day so many associate with darkness.

This little darling was comforting his human Dad at our meeting and gave me loads of snuggles, too. Then he attended the funeral of his human Mum at the end of last week. If animals are an important part of your life, always ask the question. Some venues allow certain pets with prior notice. I've had dogs, birds and even a lizard attending my ceremonies. πŸ₯°

🧑 "Dear Antonia. We just wanted to write and say a heartfelt thank you for the beautiful ceremony you led for Mum last week. You struck exactly the right tone - warm, thoughtful, and full of quiet dignity. Many people commented afterwards on how lovely it was and how well you captured Mum’s spirit. It felt personal and genuine, and that meant a great deal to all of us.

Your calm presence and careful guidance made everything feel manageable and meaningful. We’re so grateful for the care you took in listening to us and shaping the service in a way that honoured Mum so perfectly. Thank you again for helping us give her such a fitting farewell."

In my 'other life', I record music with my extremely talented husband, Jo Burt. This week, we cut the new, live album at Abbey Road Studios in London; made famous, of course, by The Beatles. The second clip is the lathe actually cutting the lacquer ready to press the LP. Album number five, but the first to be released on vinyl. πŸ’• For more on Jo and his amazing history, just Google his name! ✌️😎
