So it makes sense that one technique can never work for everyone.

Our bodies are shaped by:
• genetics
• posture and movement habits
• stress and workload
• injury or illness
• trauma and lived experience
• how safe we feel in our bodies

What feels deeply releasing for one person may feel overwhelming or ineffective for another.

Some bodies need:
✨ slow, grounding pressure
✨ gentle holding and stillness
✨ rhythmic movement
✨ space and choice
✨ very little touch at all

True bodywork isn’t about forcing change —
it’s about listening.

When techniques are chosen to meet the body in front of us, the nervous system can soften, trust can build, and real change can happen.

Healing works best when it’s responsive, not prescriptive.

Your body isn’t difficult.
It’s intelligent.
And it knows what it needs.

We live in a world that rewards speed, productivity, and constant doing.
But our bodies were never designed to live in perpetual urgency.

Gemma Atkinson is a highly trained and experienced body therapist and yoga teacher. She treats people with a wide range of relaxation and remedial treatments using a variety of techniques. Her mission is to reduce pain, stress/tension, rehabilitating people from trauma or injury. She treats each person individually taking a comprehensive consultation upon first visit. This allows Gemma to understand the needs of each client. She teaches yoga, meditation, breath work, mantra, relaxation, privately or in small group classes.
