Lakeshore provides high quality residential nursing care as a short term bookable respite stay or long term care. We are an independent nursing home. St.

David’s core strength lies in the excellent nursing care that it delivers to its residents. Qualified nursing staff are on duty 24 hours a day working with a team of friendly care assistants. Our home is visited on a weekly basis by the local GP. A hairdresser, chiropodist and optician also visit regularly. Whether you need a little respite care or have complex nursing requirements we are happy accommodate you and make sure your comfortable during your stay.

The 'Barn Strummers' 🎸

Residents had a great afternoon listening to the 'Barn Strummers'. The band plays on a variety of instruments including the violin, melodic and harmonica.

In addition, to singing along, at least one resident was inspired to play the 'bones' along with the band 🎶

The entertainment this week is by 'The Barn Strummers' 🎶

The band plays a wide variety of instruments and encourage the audience to join in. On Wednesday, there is Active with Beth (Qi- Gong movements and other chair based exercises.) On Thursday, St. Peter's Church Sheringham will lead a Holy Communion Service for residents ⛪

Are you familiar with this game?

Residents had a great afternoon playing it. Everybody was prompted to reminisce and tell their own stories 🗣

The imaginative options had everyone laughing, particularly the question, if you were a superhero, who would be your sidekick and what would you call yourselves? 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️

Valentine's Day features quite heavily in the activities this week 💕

The arts and crafts session on Wednesday will provide residents with an opportunity to create their own Valentine's day cards 🥰

The florist visits us on Thursday with fresh flowers for residents to incorporate in their floral designs 💐

All of these will be ready in time for the Valentine's Day party on Saturday afternoon. Tuesday features music performed by Rachel and there is Pet Therapy on Saturday morning 🐾

Signs of Spring 🌼

While it remains very wet outside, residents can see the first signs of spring from their rooms. Daffodil shoots are appearing everywhere. While the 'H**e' and 'Hellebore' are in full bloom in the rear garden.

Burns Night - Residents celebrated all things Scottish a day early. They tossed the caber and threw the hammer to much laughter. The poems 'The Red Red Rose' and 'To A Mouse' were recited. Then the residents sang 'The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond' and 'The Skye Boat Song' 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🎶

After the 'Address to the Haggis', residents ate haggis with a whiskey cream sauce and scotch rolls accompanied by a wee drama of whiskey liquer 🥃

Residents appreciate a good challenge; especially when it's in the company of friends 🤝

The recent word games afternoon included hangman, word ladders (laddering one word to another by changing one letter at a time) and word link, finding the linking word that can apply to all three words 💭

There was a lot of joking and encouragement as the answers were discovered ☺️

It was smiles all round as residents enjoyed Luna's first visit of 2026. Luna also seemed very happy to have the attention of so many residents ❤️

Some residents groomed her, others provided treats, and everyone liked petting her 🐶

The week starts with a visit from the hairdresser and a chance for some competitive fun during the quiz afternoon 📋

Tuesday afternoon features a cooking session. We hope that we can take some pictures before everything is eaten. Qi Gong takes place on Wednesday afternoon. It's an opportunity for residents to take part in chair based exercises that align mind, body and spirit 🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️

The weekend features an arts and crafts session on Saturday and 'Sing for Joy' on Sunday ❤️

The Price is Right was a very popular afternoon 😁

There was an immediate request for the afternoon to be repeated soon. The theme music was played, and both the role of game show host and glamorous assistant were played.

Residents were organized into two teams. A trivia question was asked and whichever team answered correctly had the opportunity to choose the price of a grocery shop item. If correct, team members can choose a prize. Every resident won a prize 🥳

'The Barn Strummers' recently performed for residents in the conservatory 🥳

The band played an array of instruments including ukuleles, harmonicas, violins, spoons and squeeze box. In between tunes, they introduced themselves and their instruments to residents. It was a very joyful afternoon 🎶
