Lakeshore provides high quality residential nursing care as a short term bookable respite stay or long term care. We are an independent nursing home. St.

David’s core strength lies in the excellent nursing care that it delivers to its residents. Qualified nursing staff are on duty 24 hours a day working with a team of friendly care assistants. Our home is visited on a weekly basis by the local GP. A hairdresser, chiropodist and optician also visit regularly. Whether you need a little respite care or have complex nursing requirements we are happy accommodate you and make sure your comfortable during your stay.

We had great fun celebrating the birthday of Brian and Wendy in November 🥳

A new tradition is to develop a quiz around the birthday person. Everyone enjoys the challenge of answering the questions about names and birth years. Of course, there is always a birthday cake designed around the resident's preferences 🎂

These photos provide you with the answers to some recent word games 🔠

Residents selected a phrase at random and then their partner tried to complete it. These games work with deep seated memories and stimulated great discussions about the meaning of the phrases and regional variations of them 🤓

The ad slogans are similar, but also allowed residents to discuss which ones they liked or disliked and why 🗣

Here at Lakeshore, we were all very excited when Laura brought in her beautiful dachshund puppies 🐶

All the residents met either Winston, Elvis, Bruce, Hazel, Sally, Willow, Max or Winnie. Most have found new homes amongst some of the staff so we are sure that we will see them again soon ❤

Here is what is planned in terms of group activities for the coming week. Residents are looking forward to the pizza afternoon. What types of pizza will be exhibited?

The arts and crafts sessions will start focusing on Christmas. The 'Sing for Joy' service will celebrate the first advent Sunday 🕯

Residents really appreciate live music performances 🎸

However, on a recent afternoon they decided that they would like to be the music makers. Over cups of tea and snacks, residents delighted in participating in a karaoke style sing-a-long 🎶

Word Games – a novel way of playing Scrabble 🔠 have you played whiteboard Scrabble?

This form of scrabble allows a larger group to play the game. Everyone can join in…some people can choose letters from the bag and others can enjoy forming words and telling the scribe where to place them on the board 😁

Here is what's going on a Lakeshore this week 📅

Residents really enjoyed the Qi-Gong session. So, we now have incorporated this seated based exercise and mindful meditation activity into our plans for the next few weeks 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️

The next sessions are planned for this Wednesday (19th) and then the 3rd and 17th December. On Thursday, residents have the opportunity to attend a Communion service in the Conservatory. This service is led by St. Peter’s Church, Sheringham ⛪

Residents who love challenges should have fun with the Monday Big Quiz and Word Games on Tuesday.

We are announcing that St. David’s is now Lakeshore.

Our ownership, staff and management remains unchanged.

After 90 years serving Sheringham and 20 years owned by Lakeshore Healthcare Limited, our trading name St. David’s Nursing Home has been changed today to Lakeshore.

The name also reflects the upgrades of our premises in recent years, including extended bedrooms with ensuite wet rooms and French doors that access our three landscaped gardens, one of which is overlooked by our recently extended Conservatory and patio.

So, we are still the same high-quality team, but with a new name!

Halloween Party 👻

It was wonderful to see so many people and all ages join in our Halloween festivities. There were pumpkins everywhere you looked and spiders were well represented 🕷️

Party goers could eat 'eye balls', 'severed fingers' and portions of 'Sid', the very large chocolate spider. In between gruesome delicacies, people played darts, skittles and retold spooky stories.

This week, we hope that as many residents and their relatives will be able to join us for our meeting on Friday, 24th October at 10.45 to update you with the rebranding of St. David's business name and answer any questions you may have 😁

Tomorrow afternoon are celebrating the Apple Day. Please join us after lunch on Tuesday for an afternoon of cooking and baking apples 🍎

Then on Wednesday afternoon, Rachael, the talented flautist and pianist, will perform enchanting melodies in the conservatory 🎶

Residents are continuing to enjoy the 'Summer' Fete fun 😜

Winners of "Guess the Name of the Elephant" and Guess the Number of Sweets in the Jar were announced

Then residents played skittles and tin can alley. There were prizes for the highest scorers 🥇

However, people were so witty when they 'fluffed' that we might need to introduce prizes for the most stylish losers 😅
