TDS is hoping to help to tackle loneliness in the community through organising some coffee mornings with the added benefits of meeting and interacting with our horses.
We believe that there are many groups of people out there who would love to have some horsey time, maybe learn a little about caring for and training horses, and get some fresh air to boot.
A coffee, some cake and a chat with others never goes amiss either.
Do you know someone who would love this?
Please email us (with the prospective attendees consent!) at tdsridingcentre@gmail.com to express an interest.
This is one of several community projects that we are involved in.
You can help by spreading the word!

Laser is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that helps reduce inflammation, relieve discomfort and speed up healing from injury or surgery. It’s also great for managing chronic conditions like arthritis.

Whether your dog is recovering, aging gracefully or just needs a bit of extra care, we’re here to help them feel their best

These lovely ladies love their physio sessions and made even better with some tasty treats

People are often surprised when they find out that cats can have physio. Most cats respond really well and enjoy the pamper!

🔹If you have an older cat that has started to slow down then get in touch, we’d love to help 🐈

INDIBA 🐎

What is INDIBA? How can it help my horse?

INDIBA is a therapeutic device which uses radiofrequency to facilitate healing and improve performance.

It works as a closed circuit from the handle applicator to the return plate (usually under the sternum). This allows for deep pe*******on into the tissues to treat the hard-to-reach areas, where other therapies may not. (eg SI, navicular or coffin joints)

The radiofrequency is set to 448kHz which has scientifically proven biostimulatory effects on the cells. There is also a heating effect to increase bloodflow for arrival of oxygen and nutrients and for waste removal.

These combine to:
🔹Promote tissue repair
🔹Reduce pain
🔹Reduce inflammation and swelling

INDIBA can be used all over the body at any stage of repair. This varies from acute to chronic conditions including:
🔹Osteoarthritis
🔹Tendon/ligament lesions
🔹Kissing spines
🔹Wound healing
🔹Muscle repair and performance

Laser 🚨

Laser is a very versatile tool I use in most appointments whether that be for dogs, cats or horses.

It's a great option for animals intolerant of, or trying to reduce pain medications, e.g. compromised kidneys.

The main benefits are that it can 🔹reduce pain, 🔹reduce inflammation and 🔹accelerate the tissue healing process

It works by adding light energy into the tissues to either stimulate the cells or inhibit biochemical pathways. It can help with formation of new blood vessels, collagen synthesis for enhanced soft tissue healing and swelling reduction. This is great for stimulation of nerve, tendon, ligament, cartilage and bone healing.

The most common scenarios I use it are for:
🔹Osteoarthritis particularly in dogs and cats (indiba for horses)
🔹IVDD
🔹Cruciate rupture
🔹Trigger points/knots in muscles

INIDBA for acute SDFT injury 🐎

An 8yo Lusitano presented with sudden severe lameness and swelling of the right hind fetlock. The horse was diagnosed with annular plantar ligament (APL) desmitis and superficial digital flexor tendon (SDFT) tendonitis.

The horse was treated with INDIBA for 6 sessions, along with undergoing an exercise rehabilitation plan and remedial shoeing.

INDIBA was shown to promote the formation of collagen fibres and improve their alignment (which improves the integrity of repair). There was also a decrease in swelling by the third session.

If you would like to know more about INDIBA radiofrequency then please get in touch or view the full summary on our website

Common Symptoms 🐾

Signs your dog may benefit from physio:

🔹Wonky sit
🔹Skipping with back legs
🔹Stiff to get up
🔹Flinching back

🔹 A “wonky” sit or a “puppy” sit, where the dog slouches to the side may be a sign of issues within the hind limbs, particularly the hips

🔹 Skipping or hopping a leg when walking or trotting shows there is an underlying condition in the hind limbs too, often in the knee

🔹 If your dog is stiff to get up, they may be starting to show their age and could benefit from joint support

🔹 A back that flinches or spasms when touched could indicate sore muscles

If you see any of these signs in your dog and are concerned, it is best to get them checked over by the vet to identify any underlying issues.
These are all symptoms that physiotherapy can help with to make your dog more comfortable.

Dog Wheelchair Charities 🛞

Is your dog struggling with mobility issues and you're looking to try something to give them more independence?

Dog wheelchairs can be a great option, whether temporary, whilst they recover, or permanently to allow more freedom in their everyday lives.

Dog wheels can be used for multiple conditions but are mainly utilised for spinal diseases such as intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) or degenerative myelopathy (DM). Its best to talk to your vet or physio to discuss if they’d be suitable for your dog.

Wheelchairs can be expensive, especially for the sturdy, good quality wheels needed for some larger dogs. Thankfully, there are several brilliant charities that hire out wheelchairs for dogs in need. We've listed some UK based dog wheelchair charities that may be able to help:

🔹Pumpkin and Friends

🔹Winstons wheels

🔹Broken Biscuits

🔹Peppa's Place

🔹Pick ‘n’ Mix Cause for Paws

More information and the links to these charities are available on my blog post:
