This time of year can be tough if you're grieving. The world keeps moving, but it feels like your heart's stuck in neutral. I find solace in a simple ritual: heading to a river or stream, collecting flowers, sticks, or leaves, and throwing them into the water.
Before I let them go, I say whatever I'm feeling – it's a way to acknowledge the emotions, to speak to the person I'm missing, or just to express what's inside.
As the water carries them away, it's like I'm releasing those feelings, allowing myself to feel and let go. It's not about letting go of the person; they're still with me, in my heart. It's about moving forward with them, learning to carry their memory with me.
