August has been a quiet, relaxing month. Singalongs in the sunshine. Or singalongs inside when it's been raining 🙄
Games, stories, singing, quizzes, pamper days. Exercising with Rachel.

Inbetween all of our usual activities we have also managed to fit in some unusual entertainment.
Magic Daz and his singing puppets came to entertain us again. We also went on an imaginary cruise with a company called Strictly Entertainement. They offer a different theme for each season. The summer theme was All Aboard. All of the songs were on a different country theme with lots of costume changes.

Both were brilliant and funny in very different ways 😁

We have also started our scarecrow for Baildon Scarecrow Festival 🤫
August is coming to an end so let's see what September brings for our residents 💕

All our residents are individual and they all have different ideas of what they enjoy doing. Whatever this may be, and if its possible, then we at Hillbro will do it. Whether it's the theatre, going for a curry, dancing, pub, art gallery or simply a walk in the park.

One of our residents, Colin, loves trains 🚉.
We've been on the christmas train at Howarth. We've been to Leeds. But we weren't on these trains long enough.
Colin wanted a longer ride. Carlisle had been suggested. So that's where we went.
And Colin absolutely loved it.

Lovely day for both of us 🥰

Yesterday afternoon we welcomed Addie, our final singer for July at Hillbro.

Addie sings beautifully and has such a calming effect on our home 😍

Lots of compliments from family, staff and most importantly our residents 🥰

When the weather is perfect some of us like to sit outside in the gardens, listening to music, talking about anything and everything and watching the world go by 🥰🌞

But it can't be too hot. Or too cold. Or too windy. Or too breezy. Or look like it might rain in Leeds.

I think we've agreed 19 degrees, a couple of fluffy white clouds and with the most delicate breeze is the perfect weather 😏😉🥰

On Tuesday Chris from Yodaiko Drumming Group came to do a drumming workshop with some of our residents.

And it went so much better than I expected 😁 Absolute chaos but also absolutely brilliant.

Perfect for sensory, coordination and general happiness 😊❤️🪘🥁

Honey the dog came to visit today and she brought her owner Richard who sang for our residents. Some singing, lots of dancing and some tricks from Honey to finish off a lovely afternoon 🎶🎵🐕💕
