✨🌼 February at Shipston Lodge – Creativity, Community & Plenty of Smiles! 🌼✨
February has been a wonderfully busy and uplifting month here at Shipston Lodge, filled with creativity, movement and meaningful moments together. From colourful arts and crafts sessions to lively activity classes, our residents have enjoyed a fantastic mix of fun and friendship throughout the month.
Our creative sessions have been particularly popular. Residents celebrated Valentine’s week by making heart-shaped bird feeders for the garden and decorating the home with cheerful hearts. We also enjoyed beautiful watercolour painting with Jim and Sylvia, colourful rainbow fish crafts, and a special St David’s Day themed craft session with Wendy where residents made daffodils, leeks and traditional Welsh hats. 🎨🌼
Keeping active has been just as important this month. From resistance band workouts with Karen to fun games like balloon tennis and ball skill activities on the dementia ward, there have been plenty of opportunities to keep moving while sharing lots of laughter. Our regular music and movement session with Yvette once again brought energy and joy to the home, with residents clapping, dancing and singing along. 💃🎶
We were also delighted to welcome our wonderful volunteer Greg for another inspiring origami session, where residents learned new folding techniques and created beautiful decorations. Meanwhile, our monthly church service offered a moment of reflection and community, with Rev Jill Tucker leading the service and our talented resident Jo playing the piano beautifully from memory.
From creativity and exercise to music, faith and friendship, February has been another month full of memorable moments here at Shipston Lodge. Thank you to everyone who helps make our home such a vibrant and caring community. 💛
