Here at Cotswold Community Care we provide Live in Care in the comfort of your own home, to provide continuous, personalised support. This arrangement allows individuals, often older adults or those with chronic illnesses, disabilities, or complex needs, to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own home while receiving the assistance they require.

Key aspects and services provided by live-in care include:

Personal Care: Assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.

Companionship: Providing emotional support, engaging in conversations, and participating in hobbies or activities to combat loneliness and promote mental well-being.

Medication Management: Reminders and administration of medications to ensure they are taken correctly and on time.

Meal Preparation: Planning, shopping for, and cooking nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and personal preferences.

Household Tasks: Light housework, laundry, and maintaining a tidy living environment.

Specialised Care: For individuals with specific conditions like dementia, Parkinson's, stroke recovery, or those requiring palliative or end-of-life care, live-in Carers can be trained to provide tailored support, often working in conjunction with other healthcare professionals.

Benefits of Live-in Care:

Staying at Home: The most significant advantage is the ability to remain in a familiar environment, surrounded by personal belongings, memories, and pets. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with dementia, as routine and familiarity can reduce confusion and distress.

One-to-One Personalised Care: Clients receive dedicated, undivided attention from their caregiver, unlike residential care settings where staff-to-resident ratios mean care is shared among multiple individuals. This allows for highly tailored care plans that adapt to evolving needs and preferences.

Continuity of Care: Often, one or two caregivers work on a rotational basis, allowing for a strong bond to form between the client and caregiver, fostering trust and a deeper understanding of the client's needs and personality.

Maintaining Independence and Routines: Live-in care enables individuals to maintain their established daily routines, hobbies, and social connections within their community, promoting a sense of autonomy and dignity.

Peace of Mind for Families: Knowing that a dedicated professional is always present provides reassurance to family members, relieving them of some caregiving burdens and allowing them to focus on their relationship with their loved one.

Reduced Risk of Infections: Compared to communal care settings, live-in care in a controlled home environment can significantly reduce the risk of exposure to illnesses.

Cost-Effectiveness (especially for couples): While it may seem more expensive than a care home initially, for individuals with higher care needs or for couples who both require care, live-in care can sometimes be a more cost-effective solution than two residential care home placements

The warm hub is a welcoming space based at the Ellen Badger, where individuals can gather and enjoy each other’s company. It’s especially beneficial for those who may not have the opportunity to socialise as much as they would like.

As a community-based organization, our Carers are dedicated to supporting you in social activities. Whether you need someone to drop by for a visit, take you to social events like the warm hub or to stay with you for companionship, we are here to help—no request is too big or small.
