We want to raise awareness following the recent meningitis outbreak in Kent 💙

Health officials have confirmed an ongoing outbreak of meningococcal disease (MenB), with around 20 cases reported and, tragically, two lives lost. The outbreak has mainly affected young people, particularly those linked to the University of Kent and a recent event in Canterbury.

This is a stark reminder of how serious meningitis can be and how quickly it can develop. Early recognition and urgent treatment are critical.

If you or someone you know develops symptoms, seek medical help immediately.

You can contact UKHSA 0344 225 3861, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, if you have no symptoms but are concerned, or have been in contact with a confirmed case or have a general enquiry.

There has been a large amount of expired medication returned back to the local pharmacy for safe disposal recently. Unused medicines can be unsafe and cost the NHS millions each year.

Please help reduce waste:
✅ Only order what you need
✅ Check your cupboards before reordering
✅ Return expired medicines to your pharmacy (not household bins)

We will be sending the CCTV footage to the police.
