Potential Change in Primary Care Network
Dear Patients,
Over the past year many patients have informed us of their difficulties in accessing services at the Oxford Centre due to poor transport links in our community and the distance to the centre. With this in mind, the Partners at Northumberland Park Medical Group have actively listened to your concerns and entered into discussions with Whitley Bay Primary Care Network to move our hub-based services to Whitley Bay.
From a practice perspective this change would mean Drs Young, Bloom and Hussain and Sister Young will be working proactively with Whitley Bay Practices to develop healthcare services for our community serving a population of 30,000 patients rather than the current 70,000. We expect this change to be beneficial to our patients and to enhance the service we are already providing at Northumberland Park Medical Group.
Patients will still be able to been seen as usual at our practice and by our usual clinicians.
As ever, it is our ambition to bring services closer to the patients we serve and we will continue to develop as many services on-site at Northumberland Park Medical Group, but we also aim to ensure that any hub-based service provided at scale is accessible to all.
