My academic journey
I started my academic career studying social sciences at college and then moved on to study Criminology and Psychology at Brighton University. It was here that I realised that rather than assessing clients I wanted to be part of the therapeutic process. I started studying counselling at Level one and continued through to Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, becoming fully qualified. Working ethically
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and therefore abide by their code of ethics while working. Continued Study
I am always looking to learn more and improve my skills. I have completed further studies (CPDs) on Anger management, bereavement, addiction and working with dreams. I continue to study areas to improve my practice

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Just kidding, no judgement 😁 Also “It is what it is”….until it’s not.
The phrase can be problematic because it can act to dismiss, discourage or minimise feelings around a situation. It activity encourages you to shut down any further thoughts or feelings around the subject.

Sometimes it can feel helpful, other times it may be worth considering further exploring how you feel.

Don’t know how you feel? Or how to help yourself feel better?
Sometimes closing your eyes taking a deep breath and feeling into your body can help. Start to identify stress in the shoulders or jaw. Nerves in the tummy. An ache in the chest. These can be helpful signs of what’s going on without us realising what we feel.

Sometimes it’s hard to connect to how we feel. A question that can be helpful is how am I feeling physically and where do I feel it?
This can help to start to connect emotions, needs and identify how we can look after ourselves.

Wandering can be really helpful in processing, we don’t always have to be searching for something. It’s in the process.
