Essential Blends Skincare was created by Aromatherapy expert Sophie Joseph who made these products as a result of her own bad skin outbreaks of adult acne.. After trying every product on the market yet not receiving any change, she started her aromatherapy training and developed blends that rapidly healed her skin and reaffirmed the power of these remarkable plant extracts. Within her therapy practise many clients asked for blends to remedy their own skin issues and so she launched the essential Blends skincare range. Made from all natural plant ingredients and essential oils, using no synthetic perfume or preservatives and free from harmful parabens and petrochemicals that are found in most commercial cosmetics. These exquisitely scented products help to uplift your mood and leave your skin feeling naturally beautiful. Made in Shoreham-by-Sea using local ingredients as possible and contained in plastic free containers and packaging

Sophie also leads workshops and meditation groups on the subject of plant essential oils and natural ingredients.

People often ask me a few questions about my face mask sticks, especially if theyโ€™ve had mixed experiences with face masks in the past, so I thought Iโ€™d answer some of the most common ones here ๐ŸŒฟ

โœจ How often should I use a face mask stick?
Once or twice a week is usually perfect. Theyโ€™re designed to support the skin, not overwhelm it

โœจ When should I use one โ€“ morning or night?
Either works.
Purify can feel lovely as a fresh morning boost, while Balance or Nourish are beautiful in the evening as part of a slower self-care ritual.

โœจ How long do I leave it on for?
Around 5โ€“15 minutes. It will feel comfortable on the skin and wont dry the skin out even if left on longer, i have often forgotten I have it on and scared my postman! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜‚

โœจ Are the mask sticks suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes they were created with sensitive and reactive skin in mind, using gentle, naturally scented botanicals.
As always, patch testing is a good idea if your skin is very sensitive.

โœจ Are they only for oily or spot-prone skin?
Not at all. While Purify supports oily or congested skin, Balance and Nourish are designed for combination, dull, dry, sensitive, and mature skin too.

Many people enjoy using more than one, depending on how their skin (or mood) feels.

โœจ Do I apply to wet or dry skin?
Apply to clean, dry skin, then rinse away gently with warm water.

โœจ Do I moisturise afterwards?
Yes you can follow with your usual serum or moisturiser to keep skin feeling comfortable and nourished.

If youโ€™ve ever avoided face masks because they felt drying, messy, or uncomfortable, my face mask sticks were created to be a simpler, kinder alternative ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿฉท

It just wasn't good enough...

I created my face mask sticks because I wanted skincare to feel supportive, not complicated.

I found a lot of face mask products on the market were messy, inconvenient to use, came with lots of artificial ingredients and scent and unnecessary plastic packaging.

For me, a face mask should:
๐Ÿ’šcleanse and refine the skin without drying it out
๐Ÿ’šfeel nourishing and soothing, not greasy or heavy
๐Ÿ’šbe quick and easy to use, with no mixing or mess
๐Ÿ’šuse thoughtful ingredients rather than relying on synthetics
๐Ÿ’šcome in packaging thatโ€™s practical and recyclable

The stick format felt like the simplest, most intuitive way to bring all of that together, something you can reach for easily, whether youโ€™re at home or away.

Stat tuned as Iโ€™ll be sharing more about the ingredients, the making process, and how best to use them ๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

For a long time, I felt a bit disenchanted with face masks.
On one hand, there were clay and purifying masks that did clarify the skin, but left it feeling dry, tight, and uncomfortable.
On the other, moisturising masks that felt greasy, messy to apply, or just not very pleasant to use.

I wanted something different for my customers.

I wanted a mask that could be purifying in the traditional sense, like a clay mask but that also nourished the skin at the same time, using beautiful botanicals rather than harsh ingredients.

I was also frustrated by what was on the market: lots of plastic packaging, sachets and wrappers, heavily perfumed products, and artificial scents that I (and many of my customers) simply canโ€™t tolerate, especially if you have sensitive or reactive skin.

So I set out to create something simpler.
A face mask thatโ€™s easy to use, gentle on the skin, naturally scented, and free from fuss.
No powders to mix. No bowls or brushes. No mess.
Something you can use whenever you want, as a quick skin pick-me-up during the day, or as part of a slower, more indulgent self-care ritual in the evening.
Thatโ€™s how my face mask sticks came to be.

I created three, Purify, Balance, and Nourish for different skin needs, though many people find they can use more than one, depending on how their skin (or mood) feels.

Im going to be sharing more about what's in each of them and how best to choose and use them to rock your skincare routine ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿฉท
