Shoreham Homoeopathy

Shoreham Homoeopathy Therese Eriksen is an experienced registered homeopath, specialising in trauma.

Consultation with registered homeopath Therese Eriksen RSHom, SDSHom. Suitable for children and adults. Remedy included.
Chronic dis-ease arises when we reach overload (of toxicity/emotional distress/physical stress). Symptoms can appear as mental, emotional and/or physical manifestations of this inward dysregulation.

Homeopathy, this safe and gentle system of medicine, can help to restore equilibrium to our very being, so that we can return to fulfilling our potential in life.

The skilled homeopath will sensitively help the patient explore where the issues lie so that the journey to full health can unfold.

Remedies are prescribed at each consultation based on the totality of symptoms, made from the plant, animal and mineral kingdoms, with the substance that most closely resonates with the underlying state using the “law of similars”.

Due to their ultra-high dilutions, homeopathic remedies can be used by people of any age, even new born babies and pregnant or breast-feeding women.

Joint stiffness that is worst first thing in the morning?

Some people describe waking feeling stiff, tight, or uncomfortable when they first get out of bed.

The first few steps can feel awkward or painful, yet as they begin moving around, the joints gradually loosen and become easier.

It may affect the knees, hips, lower back, hands, or feet, and for some people it has slowly become part of everyday life.

Many people simply put it down to ageing and assume they must learn to live with it.

As a homoeopath, I consider the pattern carefully — when it happens, what improves it, what aggravates it, and what else may be happening alongside it.

Rather than simply accepting the same cycle day after day, I aim to work with you to reduce this tendency.

Appointments are available online or in person.

UTI's that keep returning...

Some people describe a familiar cycle — symptoms improve with treatment, sometimes completely, then weeks or months later the infection returns again.

For some, it happens after in*******se, after stress, during menopause, or following antibiotics.

Others feel they never fully return to normal between episodes.

Alongside the burning, urgency, or discomfort, many people also describe anxiety about it returning and becoming increasingly cautious about travel, social plans, or even everyday activities.

Although recurring UTIs are common, they are not something you simply have to keep enduring indefinitely.

As a homoeopath, I look at your personal susceptibility, frequency, triggers, and what else may be happening alongside it.

If you would like to explore how homoeopathy may help you, we can work together online or in person.

Sudden irritability or rage just before your period?

One moment you're feeling relatively fine. Then suddenly you are irritable, short-tempered, or even overwhelmed with anger in the days before your period.

To others, it can seem out of proportion to what’s happening; small things become intolerable, patience disappears. Sometimes it’s followed by guilt or a sense of “that’s not really me.” Indeed, it can seem quite out of character.

Although you may have endured this for many years, you don't have to continue this way.

If you would like to explore how homoeopathy can help you, we can work together online or in person.

Headaches that come like clockwork before your period?

This is something I see quite often.

People often describe a very clear pattern — a headache that arrives one or two days before bleeding starts, sometimes every single cycle.

It may feel dull and heavy, or more intense and throbbing. For some, it comes with irritability, sensitivity to light, or a feeling of pressure around the temples or behind the eyes.

Because it follows a predictable cycle, it’s often put down to “just hormones” and managed as best as possible each month.

As a homoeopath, I consider timing, the sensation, and what else is happening alongside it all to help build a clearer picture.

Rather than expecting you to manage the same symptoms month after month, the aim is to reduce this tendency.

Appointments are available online or in person.

Food sensitivities that keep increasing?

This is something I see quite often.

People often start by noticing one or two foods that don’t agree with them. Then, gradually, the list grows — dairy, wheat, certain fruits, fermented foods, sometimes even “healthy” foods they used to tolerate well.

What can be confusing is that it doesn’t always behave like a simple allergy. Reactions can be delayed, inconsistent, or vary depending on stress, sleep, digestion, or recent illness.

People often describe feeling like they are “running out of foods they can safely eat.”

From a homoeopathic perspective, this can be a sign that the system has become more reactive overall, rather than just reacting to specific foods in isolation.

I aim not just to suggest you remove foods one by one, but help you heal so that you don't need to.

Appointments are available online or in person.

Bloating after eating?

Feeling bloated after eating is something a lot of people put up with.

Sometimes it’s immediate.

Sometimes it builds over the day.

Sometimes it’s certain foods, and sometimes it seems to be everything.

You might feel uncomfortable, sluggish, heavy, or be visibly distended.

As a homoeopath, I look at what could be underlying this.

When does it happen?
What makes it better or worse?
What else is going on alongside it?

These details help to narrow down remedies that are individual to you.

Because we are all unique and the symptoms our bodies produce are an expression of an imbalance in our equilibrium.

If bloating is something you experience regularly, let's see if we can resolve it rather than just managing it.

I currently have availability on Friday, in person or online.

🌿 Wild garlic pesto recipe🌿

Ingredients:

235g wild garlic leaves
115g nuts (pine nuts, walnuts, or hazelnuts)
115g hard cheese, grated (I used manchego)
350–470ml olive oil
Juice of 1 lemon (I keep some halved in the freezer for emergencies!)
Salt, to taste

Method:

Lightly toast the nuts in a dry pan until fragrant, then allow to cool.

Add wild garlic, nuts, and cheese to a food processor. Pulse until roughly chopped.

With the motor running, slowly pour in the olive oil until you reach your preferred consistency.

Add lemon juice and salt to taste. Blend briefly to combine.

Adjust seasoning as needed.

Notes:
Use less oil initially, then loosen if needed.
Keeps in the fridge for about a week if covered with a layer of oil.
Freezes well in small portions.

Waking between 2 and 4am every night is something I see quite often in practice.

People often describe a very particular pattern — suddenly wide awake at a specific time, mind active, or a restless feeling in the body.

Sometimes it’s been going on for years.

In homoeopathy, these kinds of patterns are important clues that can lead to helpful remedies individual to you.

Often there are other underlying issues that are relevant too.

I’m a homoeopath based in West Sussex and I also work online. This is the type of problem I regularly work with.

Most people don’t realise what homoeopathy can be used for.

In practice, the range of things people come to see me for is very broad.

In a typical week, that might include:

– migraines or recurring headaches
– digestive issues
– skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis
– hormonal issues, pregnancy and post partum
– sleep problems
– anxiety or low mood
– recovery after illness or surgery.

For some people, it’s because something hasn’t resolved, or keeps coming back.

For some, it's a last resort after they've tried everything else.

For others, it’s simply a preference —
they want a form of medicine that is gentle, individualised, and works with the body rather than suppressing symptoms.

Homoeopathy isn’t limited to one type of condition or one type of person.

It’s a complete system of medicine that works with the individual, based on the full picture of symptoms you're experiencing, whoever you are and whatever your age.

I work in person and online, contact link in bio.
