International Cesarean Awareness Month (CAM) takes place in April. It’s organised by the International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN), a non-profit that aims to improve maternal and child health. The month focuses on topics related to C-sections, including:
* Reducing preventable C-sections
* Supporting recovery after a C-section
* Advocating for vaginal birth after a C-section (VBAC)
* Improving the patient experience of C-section delivery
Acupuncture can accelerate C-section recovery by reducing post-operative pain, managing scar tissue, and improving digestive function. It can be initiated as early as two weeks postpartum to increase circulation around the incision, alleviate numbness, and support overall healing.

This is particularly useful for women with PCOS or Endometriosis.
