Having a studio built in my house has always been my dream but it’s quite a stressful process. It’s been challenging having building work done (although my builders are lovely) and I’m very grateful to live where I do.
When it all gets a bit much I can walk by the sea and breathe. Highly recommend!

I can’t wait to show you the progress soon, currently having flooring laid & choosing paint colours. It’s going to be such a soothing space for me to treat you in.

As we near the end of Menopause awareness month I wanted to talk to you about the significance in balancing hormones.

I have witnessed Progesterone levels rise significantly with Acupuncture and lifestyle changes alone.

The equivalent of Progesterone in Chinese Medicine is Kidney Yang. A lot of my menopause treatments in clinic are aimed at tonifying Kidney Yang.

Acupuncture, among other advice such as taking supplements, and other lifestyle factors can help with many menopausal symptoms.

We may look at detoxification pathways through referring to a Naturopath who can run tests to see where the ratios of hormones are- giving you a clearer picture of what’s going on.

We may also need to look at how well your body is making energy, and consider whether we need to look at Thyroid health.

I take a holistic assessment of your health history, symptoms, and test results to formulate a targeted plan to get you back to balance and health.

I’ll keep you updated to when I’m open for consultations again (yes the clinic is still a work in progress) but in the meantime please sign up to my newsletter where I’ll be sharing advice to support you wherever you are on your reproductive health journey.

We can supplement Oestrogen back into our bodies, but if we can’t detoxify it through the Liver, our symptoms will get worse.

Ways to do this:

🌱Sweating- saunas are good for this. Ideally an infrared sauna is best as it also targets inflammation.

🌱Castor Oil Packs- applied over the Liver area is said to detoxify and support the Liver (Great for bloating too)

Lovely review from a client I was treating for menopause symptoms.
There can be so many symptoms of the condition, the main ones I treat in clinic being:

Low mood
Low energy
Low motivation
Brain Fog
Hot flushes
Night sweats
Irritability
Insomnia
Weight gain, especially around the middle
Abdominal bloating
Menopause onset food intolerances/IBS symptoms/ (It is recommended to have acupuncture alongside Functional Medicine testing and supplementation)
Menopause Onset migraine

Acupuncture, among other advice such as taking supplements, and other lifestyle factors may help all of the above symptoms, and I have seen many times in clinic of women reporting an improvement in all of the above.

Although I’m not offering acupuncture right now (my new clinic is being built) we can stay in touch. Sign up to my newsletter for tips and expert advice on dealing with menopausal symptoms.

Today is World Menopause Day.
are raising awareness and supporting women’s health globally through midlife and beyond which is a message I align with.

There’s much more awareness now, conversations are starting to happen but many women suffer debilitating symptoms and can feel very alone at this life stage.

This year’s theme is lifestyle medicine which is all about how simple lifestyle practices can support health and wellbeing during menopause.

I’ll be sharing advice this month and I’d love to hear anything that has worked for you.

Stress depletes Progesterone, known as the cortisol steal.

This is why prioritising joy and self care becomes so crucial in this phase of life.

What brings you joy?

We need to consider Progesterone and Oestrogen ratios during Menopause.
We need good Progesterone levels to keep Oestrogen ‘in check’

So how do we know if our hormones are balanced?

Low Progesterone signs are:

👁️‍🗨️Mid cycle Spotting
👁️‍🗨️Starting the period with a brown discharge
👁️‍🗨️Cold hands and feet
👁️‍🗨️Brain Fog
👁️‍🗨️Hot flashes- especially at night.

Have you experienced any of these symptoms?

Did you know October is Menopause Awareness month?

It’s part of an annual campaign aimed to increase understanding of menopause and its impact on women’s health.

I want to empower as many women as possible to take control of their well being. In my training and many years practising acupuncture, I’ve seen what a difference both treatment and support can make.

I’m going to be sharing resources that I hope will help this month but you can also sign up to my newsletter for even more.

Gut health massively affects hormone balance all through our reproductive years- but especially during menopause.

Here are some ways to support gut health:-
🌱Targeted Probiotics

🌱Eliminating Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids from our diets

🌱Eating Fermented foods (unless you are Histamine Intolerant)

🌱Eating mostly warmed foods.
(In Chinese medicine, cold food depletes the Spleen and Stomach energy. )

🌱Eating lots of fruit and vegetables for fibre.

I get asked this question a lot. And I completely get it, needles sound scary if you’ve never tried acupuncture before.

I use coated needles to ensure a smooth insertion. Occasionally there may be a sensation of a dull ache when the needle finds the correct acupoint, and this sensation may radiate, particularly when treating musculoskeletal conditions. This indicates a healing response is occurring. The sensation should not last for more than 30 seconds, although occasionally the needle may be manipulated to seek a stronger healing response. Your levels of comfort will always be a priority.

Although I can’t resume treatment until my new clinic is built, I’ll be offering tips and expertise on many aspects of women’s reproductive health via my newsletter. You can sign up via the link in my bio.

So this happened! I have completed the Fertility Support Training Advanced Fertility Diploma with the incredible at

Ok, so it actually happened a year ago, but there was no fanfare from me. Not because I wasn’t super proud, but because my practice was in such flux, and It’s been a bit of a holding pattern which is finally beginning to ease- (more updates on that later. ) And life threw a few curveballs last year.

But I’m here to tell you that this Diploma was so satisfying, challenging and rewarding to complete. Within completing the first module, I was putting the principles into practice and getting tangible results. I love the deep dive into testing, the detective work into complex cases and seeing fertility through the immunology lens. I feel in such a better place to truly help and support you.

The training is geared to supporting issues you may be experiencing such as:

Recurrent loss
Endometriosis
PCOS
Implantation Failure
Unexplained Infertility
Low AMH
IVF prep and support
Autoimmunity
Unsure where to turn when being told Labs are normal but you feel something is off.
Your male partner hasn’t had more than a basic sperm test and you know this should be investigated more closely
Irregular or very long menstrual cycles
A Short Luteal phase
You’re not sure when you are ovulating

We are trained to integrate Chinese Medicine principles with Western Diagnostic results and come up with a treatment plan based on your results. And to pick up on when things have been missed.

I now have a team of practitioners to call on when I come across those puzzling cases, and a place to always learn and grow. I am also part of a network of consultants I can refer you to when waiting lists are too long or you are not being heard.

And also a huge thanks to who mentored me throughout the training as part of the Fertility Support Training masterminding groups. Her knowledge, wisdom and fun take on business development and clinical support was invaluable. And her gentle pushing got me in front of that laptop, watching lectures on days I didn’t feel I could take on any more information. (There’s a lot!)
