Rhythm & Rest
Sunday 25th Jan
1-4pm, The Truleigh Centre, Shoreham

My last workshop before taking a break for mat leave!

Drop into a deeper state of presence with this enriching 3-hour journey designed to reset your body and calm your nervous system.

💫We’ll begin with journalling to help prompt you to explore your emotions.
💫We’ll then move our bodies through an embodied yoga practice, including some somatic shaking to release tension and awaken natural vitality.
💫We’ll then move into grounding yoga and restorative practices to soothe and settle, where a guided sound session invites you into spacious rest.

We’ll enjoy moments of mindful connection and shared intention 🤍

Come to unwind, reconnect, and rediscover your inner rhythm.

Here are some books I’ve been reading so far in my pregnancy and have found them all so useful!

📚Reclaiming Childbirth as a Rite of Passage - Rachel Reed
📚The Positive Birth Book - Milli Hill
📚What’s Right for Me? - Dr Sara Wickham
📚Your Baby, Your Birth - Hollie de Cruz
📚Anti-D explained - Dr Sara Wickham. I’m rhesus negative so this was important for me to understand.

❓Mamas/Parents - what would you add?

Pregnancy can be such an overwhelming time, but I find keeping myself informed and knowledgeable is helpful.

BARCELONA 🇪🇸

A few days in a beautiful city with my love.

Sometimes a change of scenery is just what you need ❣️

Who has been before?!

We loved this city, but note - when booking the Sagrada Familia, don’t book the cathedral, cos they are different buildings 🥴🙈

Happy to share any recommendations if you’re planning to go soon!

Why She Shoreham?

Moving to a new place can seem a bit scary and when you don’t know many people in the area, how do you meet people?!

Myself and chatted about how we could solve this and came up with the idea to set up a women’s group! After bringing on the queen of networking , we set ourselves up and haven’t looked back! ✨

All of our events raise money for charity and we’ve raised almost £3000 now after 2 years of events, conscious connection and pure feminine magic.

Last night was a wonderful evening hearing from the very inspiring Roisin, founder of 💥

Thanks to all who came! Us women are bloody awesome 👯‍♀️👯‍♀️

When we are at rest, studies have shown our brain produces theta waves which are associated with sleep. These waves can be produced just as you ‘nod off’ and they can make you feel really relaxed. 🧖🏼‍♀️

So why not reap those rewards and come along to ‘Radical Rest’, Mondays at 7.30pm

You will be guided through slow, mindful movement and you will be invited to spend longer in restorative poses, using bolsters to support your body.

What a weekend of delving into the complex, beautiful, nuanced world that is postpartum.

Truly, the postnatal period lasts forever. Women are stripped back and exposed and for most people, a new person is birthed with the child.

Motherhood changes us in ways that we can never really truly sum up in words.

I’d love to know how motherhood has changed you…. 🌀⚡️💧

Thank you to and for sharing so openly and imparting your knowledge.

At this time of such huge change, take some time to connect and listen to your blooming body.

These classes will be a perfect opportunity to slow down, take time for yourself and make connections with other pregnant people.

Pain is a very useful mechanism from our brain and I am grateful for it… in the right moment! It has helped us to evolve and to adapt to our environment.

I have suffered from back pain for many many years, and my healing journey has been far from linear. I found out a couple of years ago that I have a bulging disc in my thoracic (mid) spine. When I had the diagnosis I was in some ways relieved that I had a REASON for the pain I was in. What I didn’t know was how to get out of pain.

I have started to learn more about the pain fear cycle and I realise that I was living in fear of the pain, which in turn made the pain worse, and at times debilitating. I still fear now (but much less) that my pain may stop me from practicing yoga or from teaching altogether. But I try not to feed into this fear as I know that it only makes the pain worse.

What I am now learning is that our bodies heal. Our bodies adapt. Things may change physically, BUT pain is NOT something we have to live with. 💥

I did a little quiz recently on stories and I hope you enjoyed it if you saw it! 🌊

If you did the quiz you may well know all of this now, or maybe you did already. Some of this may seem absolutely obvious, but we have to remember that water is absolutely essential for us to survive. We are water!

I could write an essay about all of the different functions of water, but some of the key ones for me are;

-It helps to flush out waste products
-it carries nutrients and oxygen to our cells
-it lubricates our joints through synovial fluid

I’ve been exploring moving like water in classes recently - one of my favourite things to do!
