Asthma affects 1 in 11 children in the UK, making it the most common long‑term childhood condition. The good news is that with the right care, most children can live full, active lives.
A few key things parents and carers should know:
✅ A personalised asthma action plan can really help — but fewer than 1 in 4 children currently have one
✅ Preventer inhalers need to be used every day, even when your child seems well
✅ Common triggers include colds, cold weather, pollen, pets and cigarette smoke
✅ If a blue reliever inhaler is needed more than 3 times a week, it’s time for a review with your GP or asthma nurse
If you’d like support, speak to your health visitor, school nurse or GP.

If you are over 75 or immunosuppressed, the COVID-19 spring booster can protect you from getting seriously ill💚

Like all medicines, vaccines can cause side effects such as:
• feeling sore where you had the injection
• achy, like you have flu
• tired
• headache

Most side effects are mild, only last a day or two and not everyone gets them.

Speak to your GP or pharmacist or search 🔎 ‘NHS COVID-19 vaccine’ for more details.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common virus that can sometimes lead to serious illness, especially in babies, older adults and those with weakened immune systems.

Vaccination is one of the safest and most effective ways to protect those at higher risk.

In the UK, RSV vaccines have been rigorously assessed for safety, quality and effectiveness, and continue to be closely monitored through the Yellow Card scheme.

The RSV vaccine is currently offered on the NHS to:
🔹adults aged 75 and over
🔹all residents in care homes for older adults
🔹pregnant individuals (28–36 weeks) to help protect their babies
