At Capital Care Group, we love seeing our homes celebrate the past and create moments of joy for our residents. ✨

This week, our residents at our 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 stepped back in time as they kicked off their 𝟭𝟵𝟰𝟬𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸! Dressed in vintage clothing, everyone enjoyed exploring an incredible collection of WWII memorabilia — from police hats and ration books to women’s magazines and newspapers of the era.

It was a day filled with laughter, memories and wonderful stories, from carrying gas masks to school, eating dried egg rations and tales of grandparents who served as ARPs in their local communities. 🥚📠👴🏼👵🏼

Moments like these remind us how powerful reminiscence can be, 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿. 🌺

Today, we pause to remember the bravery, sacrifice, and strength of those who served and those who continue to serve. 🌹

Across our homes, residents and staff are coming together to honour the heroes who gave so much for the lives we live today. From quiet reflection to shared stories, we remember not only the past, but the courage and kindness that live on in each generation.

Yesterday, our homes across Capital Care Group came together to reflect, remember, and share. 💖

From heartfelt decorations and poppy displays to stories shared between residents and carers, it was a day filled with reflection, love and community spirit.

While not everyone lived through those times, many of our residents have family connections to the generations who served — and their stories remind us why remembrance still matters so deeply today. 🌹
