A common misconception about sexual health clinics, is that a clinician will need to see your ge****ls as part of a routine visit - but this is not true ❌

The most common way to test for STIs is either urine sample or vaginal swab, and a blood test.

A clinician will only ask to look at your ge****ls if there are symptoms that they need to assess.

And don't forget, our clinicians are all sexual health professionals, so see ge****ls every day and our clinics are totally private and confidential πŸ”’

Social media can have many benefits when you are grieving, including finding a community, support and information. But it is important to create, and maintain, boundaries so that you can manage how it impacts you and your life

As we head towards the colder months, now is a good time to check your hot water bottle for signs of wear and tear to make sure it’s safe for continued use.

Rubber deteriorates over time so old hot water bottles can break and cause serious burns.

Things that affect your hot water bottle:
β€’ Regular use
β€’ Filling it up using boiling water
β€’ Storing it near a heat source, like an airing cupboard or radiator
β€’ Damage from something sharp
β€’ Storing it full of water as this can degrade the rubber.

The flower symbol, found on hot water bottles, indicates exactly when it was made. The number in the middle is the year it was made, the flower segments represent the 12 months of the year and the dots inside those represent the number of weeks.

But it may take some time between manufacture and arrival in shops. So, most reputable manufacturers guarantee your hot water bottle for two years from the date of purchase rather than the date of manufacture.

The injection (or depo) is given as an injection into the bottom or thigh every three months.

It contains a hormone called progestogen which is very similar to the body's own hormones.

Long-lasting and convenient, it can stop periods temporarily.
