🧀🍷 Today’s Cheese Tasting was full of flavour and fun!
We enjoyed trying lots (and lots!) of delicious cheeses with a glass of wine, while Sarah, our Home Manager, kept everyone on their toes with a hilarious cheese quiz turns out we’ve got some real cheese experts in the building! 😂
Lots of laughs, full tummies, and a lovely way to spend the day together.

Are you a compassionate and reliable individual looking to make a real difference in people’s lives? We are currently recruiting a Night Care Assistant / Relief Shift Leader to join our dedicated team.
✨ What we offer:
💷£13.30 to £15.99 per hour
➕ +£1.00 per hour for weekend shifts
Supportive and friendly working environment
Opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities when required
🕒 Role responsibilities:
Providing high-quality care and support to our residents during night shifts
Assisting with personal care, comfort, and wellbeing
Acting as a Relief Shift Leader when needed, supporting the team and ensuring smooth running of the shift
Maintaining accurate records and promoting a safe environment
💙 We’re looking for someone who:
Has experience in care (preferred but not essential)
Is caring, patient, and dependable
Can work independently and as part of a team
Is willing to step up into a leadership role when required

It’s been a wonderfully busy week here at Briarfields! 🌼✨
Our residents had a fantastic time when the Little Explorers came to visit lots of smiles, laughter, and special moments shared across generations. 💛
We also enjoyed some relaxing arts and crafts sessions, getting creative together, followed by time spent in the garden making the most of the fresh air and sunshine. 🌿🎨
To top it all off, the week ended beautifully with some lovely flower arranging, filling our home with colour and joy. 🌸
A big thank you to everyone who made it such a memorable week!

💐 Farewell Sue 💐
On Thursday we said goodbye to Sue, our amazing Activities Coordinator. Sue was truly one of a kind always thinking outside the box and bringing creativity, fun, and enthusiasm into everything she did.
She was a massive asset to Briarfields, and her passion and dedication made such a difference to residents, families, and staff alike. Sue will be greatly missed, but her impact will be remembered for a long time to come.
We wish you all the very best for the future, Sue. Thank you for everything 💙✨

Yesterday we celebrated Chinese New Year with a fun cultural activity! 🧧🐉

Some of our residents had a go at writing their names in Chinese characters they did an amazing job and really embraced the challenge. ✍️✨

A few of them also enjoyed tasting a Chinese gooseberry (also known as golden kiwi) 😁🥝 It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and trying something new!

We’ve had such a lovely day today! 😊
This morning we enjoyed a game of “Play Your Cards Right” with lots of lucky winners – well done everyone! 🃏🎉
This afternoon we were entertained by the fantastic singer and keyboard player John Edwards. It was wonderful to sing along and enjoy some great music together. 🎶✨

Do you enjoy making a difference and bringing smiles to others? We’re looking for a caring and creative Activity Coordinator to join our lovely care home team.
🕒 Hours: 12 hours per week

About the role:
You’ll be responsible for planning and delivering engaging activities that support the wellbeing, independence, and enjoyment of our residents. From arts & crafts and games to gentle exercise and social events, you’ll help make every day meaningful.
We’re looking for someone who is:
✔ Friendly, patient, and compassionate
✔ Creative and enthusiastic
✔ Well organised and reliable
✔ Experience in care or activities is desirable, but not essential – full support provided

On Friday, we said goodbye to Kat, our Day Shift Leader and an important part of our team 💙
She worked side by side with everyone, supporting the team and helping each day run smoothly. While she’s stepping away from her role, she’s still staying on with the company and will be back to visit and help out when she can.
We’re thankful for everything she’s contributed and look forward to working with her again soon. Thank you, Kat! We will miss you👏
