Blue Grove Play Therapy PTUK Play and Creative Arts Therapist PCAP.Practitioner
Certified Autplay Therapy Provider

Hello, I’m Laura a certified play and creative arts therapist working out of Blue Grove Play Therapy. As a therapist I work in schools across Shropshire and Telford as well as offering private practice in a safe, calm and rural setting on the outskirts of Shrewsbury. I have worked within child education for the past ten years and have spent the last three years simultaneously completing my post gr

aduate diploma to become a fully qualified and certified play therapist. Play therapy is a proven and regulated therapy that allows children to work through concerns and anxieties utilising play as a tool to process life’s worries. I am passionate about giving children a safe and therapeutic space to enable them to gain a greater understanding of themselves and the world they inhabit. I use a range of tools including but not limited to art, music, puppets, role play and sand tray. Children are able to communicate and process their emotions in a form they feel comfortable with. If you have any concerns or queries about how I and Play therapy may be suitable for your child please contact me and I will be happy to discuss my work and what I can offer.

It’s global play therapy week this week. It’s all about movement this year so in honour of this I will be incorporating as much movement as I can into my daily mental health awareness challenges.

A big welcome to the Blue Grove family for our three little guinea pigs. These three will be residents in the therapy space and are currently having lots of cuddles and fuss to get them used to handling ready for children. No names yet, still brainstorming.
I am a firm believer in the significance of animals for your mental health, I know they have been pivotal for me since I was a child. Here at Blue Grove I hope to keep adding more creatures into the mix along with the ponies, dog, cat and now Guinea pigs to provide children with the opportunity to engage with animals when they may not otherwise be able to. ❤️

Being a mother can take many forms. Whatever form that may be I hope all mums are being spoilt today. I have the joy of being mum to this crazy girl who has made this Mother’s Day a special day.

Being a parent can be hard. We have to look after ourselves.

Being a parent can be hard. We have to look after ourselves.

On Parent Mental Health Day 2025, we highlight the mental health challenges faced by parents, recognising the impact of caregiving on well-being.
The day aims to encourage open dialogue, promote support resources, and stress the importance of self-care.
By breaking the stigma surrounding mental health, we advocate for greater awareness and foster a supportive environment for parents and their children.
Seeking help is a sign of strength, and every parent deserves support in their journey.
