From September, the NHS plans to start sending digital results from the NHS Cervical Screening Programme, utilising the NHS App.

In September, those who have a negative test result will be notified of this by an NHS App message. It will also appear as an NHS App notification. If the NHS App message isn’t read within 72 hours, a letter will be sent as a failsafe.

Abnormal result letters will continue, for the time being, to be sent by post.

The summer holidays are a great time to book your child's asthma review before heading back to school.

Asthma reviews are really important for children and young people. They allow healthcare professionals to check if the lungs are healthy and they’re also an opportunity for the individual, along with their family or carer, to talk about their asthma, how it might be impacting them day-to-day and what they can do to stay in control of it.”

You can talk to your health professional about:

1. Symptoms like coughing or wheezing

2. Asthma medicines that may need changing or updating

3. The best way to use inhalers to keep lungs healthy

4. How to avoid asthma attacks

5. What to do if an asthma attack does happen

6. An asthma action plan to help keep asthma under control

An asthma review helps children and young people to manage their asthma in the best way possible. It could lower their risk of an asthma attack and help them to live their best life. It’s worth booking an asthma review even if your child is well
