Well that's a wrap for another mighty fine week at Arthog Outdoor Education Centre, working alongside my good friend David Roberts.

The group did team building, mine exploration, canoeing, gorge walking and beach art and according to some of the young people it was the best week ever.

I have recently returned from a 'dry' Mountain Leader Assessment expedition for Paul Poole Mountaineering and it is an absolute pleasure to introduce these 4 new Mountain Leaders.

They had clearly prepared well for their assessment, navigating well but still looking after the group and keeping the team entertained with their mountain / environmental facts.

Today, I have mostly been mine exploring as the final activity for the RYLA course. Our chosen venue was Minllyn Slate Mine and the young people were given the passage plan and off we went, I tagged along to provide some history and to point out things of interest. We also had a spot of singing in the flooded chamber which has great acoustics.

Today, I have mostly been facilitating team challenges in the form of climbing, watersports and land based puzzles as part of a RYLA course.

It was absolutely amazing to see the young people take charge of the activities and apply what they had learnt over the past few days.
