A bit of an action packed week of activity instruction for primary school children and then Course Directing a Lowland Leader Assessment for Standon Bowers.

Another super day on the second day of a Lowland Leader training course for Standon Bowers. We navigated, talked and dealt with scenarios which the candidates took in their stride.

There were one or two navigationally challenged moments but it was lovely to see the candidates come up with a plan to get back on track using the skills they had learnt from the day before.

The first day of a Lowland Leader Training course for Standon Bowers Outdoor Education Centre has gone well today. Lots of laughter, fun and learning.

The T50 is now on OS online mapping , with green diamonds and the occasional words . See the example below. It wouldn't be enough to follow the route, but it is probably helpful. At present this is just on the online mapping tool. It is not yet on the app, apparently the app is third party software that is just refreshed occasionally, so it will appear in time. I'm not sure if it is on the paper maps yet. If someone orders a custom map it will be there. Fame at last .

Well then that's my second ML Expedition completed for this year in the form of an assessment for Paul Poole Mountaineering.

It could be best described as a Vivaldi Expedition (we had all four seasons over the course of the expedition). Pleased to say that all four candidates passed and it was an absolute pleasure to be part of their ML journey.

A rather nice week of Mountain Training courses for two different Providers so let's hope the weather plays nicely.

It's Easter weekend. The clocks have changed. The days are longer.
More light. More time. More opportunity.

For many, this is the season they head back into the mountains.
But for others, this could be the season they take their very first step.

Not everyone has the same access to the outdoors — whether it’s cost, confidence, or knowing where to start. That’s where we come in. We exist to help people take that step. To open the door to training, experience, and a future in the mountains that might not have felt possible before.

This spring could be the start of something.
