🔔⛪️Sunday morning is Church livestream time. Our ladies enjoyed watching the Pontesbury Chuch service in our quiet lounge today, followed by lunch with a tot of whiskey. Meanwhile one of our residents enjoyed their 'Christmas' dinner with family in our conservatory!

🚲🚲Don't forget we have our Spinathon on Tuesday where our staff will be cycling for 24hrs!! Please come along and show them your support (feel free to bring them cake!!!). ❄️🐦‍⬛ Well today was interesting here at a very snowy Hillcrest Manor! We decided to help out our feathered friends by making some bird feeders which they loved last year. We already have two blue t**s who have moved in to our bird boxes, and our bird tables have been ordered ready for our RSPB Big Birdwatch. I also had some lovely 1:1 sessions with residents, one especially where we looked back over her wedding album from 1959 which included telegrams. such a lovely reminiscence time!
❄️Big shout out to the staff on duty yesterday evening who managed to get in during the snow, and to those who couldn't get home and had to stay overnight - you are amazing!❄️

🚲A little change to our January timetable... On Tuesday, we will be taking part in the Capital Care Group 24 hr Spin Cycle challenge. We will be cycling for 24hrs to raise money for the Warwickshire Westwood Lions Eye Camp, in Adampur, India, and would love your help! If you are able to spare some time to help cycle, we have 15 min slots throughout the 24hrs. Please comment below, message our page or see Sally to book a slot. This afternoon we welcomed back Reverend Fran, who held a Holy Communion service for our residents in the conservatory. Fran then visited several residents in their rooms, who were unable to attend the service. Thank you for your time Fran, our residents really enjoy spending time with you!

🕺🪩It was back to the 1970's today at Hillcrest Manor! We dressed up in 70's fashion, had a fabulous 70's lunch of garlic chicken, pineapple upside down cake and Black Forest gateau, then we donned our sunglasses and sang and danced the afternoon away to a fabulous 1970's set from Paul Watkins , with glitter ball and disco light. Great fun had by all! 🪩🕺

🧶We got back on the knitting machines today, making more baby hats for the neo-natal wards. We had a group session and bedroom sessions this afternoon - the knitting machines can travel anywhere!! Whilst some residents knitted, a couple of our ladies enjoyed looking out of the patio doors looking over the hills, whist chatting about their robotic pets!🧶
