🎳We got the skittles out this afternoon, which is always a joy! The residents cheer each other one, have some healthy competition, and laugh LOTS! Not to mention the exercise, and use of fine motor skills! Always a super activity!🎳

We've had a lovely chilled Sunday morning here at Hillcrest, after all the excitement yesterday. The Pontesbury Baptist Church livestream service was watched in the comfort of our quiet lounge with a cuppa, followed by Sunday lunch shared with family. We were also very touched this morning, as the staff received a beautiful basket of flowers, and hamper from a family member who wished to show their appreciation for the care our staff had given their loved one. We are so grateful for your kind and thoughtful gift 💝

🚜🚗What an absolutely delightful morning! Our residents were treated to a selection of vintage cars, cherished cars, tractors and a Green goddess fire engine taking us on a trip down memory lane! 30 vehicles joined us today, and chatted to the residents, listened to the brilliant Les Robinson singing,enjoyed homemade cake and a cuppa, and through the raffle and donations we raised £528!
A huge personal heartfelt thank you from Sally, to everyone who attended the rally, and in particular the wonderful staff and residents here at Hillcrest Manor❤️

We are all set up ready for our car rally tomorrow!
And the weather forecast has changed for the better! Teas/coffees and home made cakes will be available inside, plus the fantastic Les Robinson will be singing for us! A warm welcome awaits!

🧶Our ladies were back to it this afternoon in our knit and natter group. It is always a busy session, and the staff were fantastic helping out our residents where needed. Mittens, cowls and baby hats were flying off the knitting machines! Next session is Thursday 23rd October 🧶

We have our Vintage car/vehicle rally here on Saturday morning!
We are keeping everything crossed for the weather forecast 🤞but if it does let us down, we will still have Les Robinson singing for us, a hamper raffle, lots of delicious homemade cakes, tea and coffee available, and as always a very warm welcome. We hope to see you there!

🎶We've been having a good old sing song this afternoon in Reabrook lounge! From hymns to Vera Lynn, John Denver to Neil Diamond, it was a great way to release those endorphins and spread a little happiness!🎶

Not long to go until our car rally!!
Don't forget we have our hamper raffle tickets on sale at reception, £1 a ticket. All proceeds go to the comfort fund for our wonderful residents, and the draw will be at the end of the car rally on the 27th.

🍁Our residents in the granary have been working with Emma on their Autumn theme board. They have had great fun choosing the paper and making pumpkins, and have lots of Autumnal themed ideas to add to it🎃

We are delighted, and extremely proud, to announce that our wonderful nurse Nikki has made it to the finals in the West Midlands Region of the Great British Care Awards in the Social Care Nurse category! Nikki goes above and beyond for our residents, and is truly deserving of this nomination. We wish her every luck with the finals!🤞

🏆Our residents hard work paid off today at Hope Show as their hats came 2nd and 3rd place in the knitted item category, and one of our flower arrangements came 3rd (out of 10 entries)! Well done to all who entered, it is lovely for Hillcrest Manor to be part of a local community event.🧶💐

🎉🥳Well, what a wonderful celebration today! Residents and staff sang,danced and clapped to the fantastic tunes of Tom Byrne, and Sally had the surprise of her life when blindfolded, and during a rendition of Happy Birthday from the residents, was faced with residents holding pictures of her face! Thank you so much to residents and staff for making it a truly special birthday
