Our first outreach for Sept is on Monday 1st 😊
The team will be in the hospitality room Refresh at Severn Hospice Severn Hospice, Clayton Lane, Shrewsbury SY3 8HS from 10.00 - 12.00.
Anyone from the armed forces community welcome.... serving personnel, veterans, families and those who support the community. Come along, enjoy the brew and banter and join in the quiz. Information and advice available too.

🤰 Just found out you’re expecting? Start your pregnancy care today! You can now refer yourself directly to NHS maternity services using a simple online form—no GP appointment required. If you're over 10 weeks, it's still absolutely okay to apply.

A midwife will contact you to set up your first appointment (ideally by 10 weeks, but sooner is always better).

When you find out you are pregnant, you can refer yourself for NHS pregnancy care so you start care with a midwife right away.

Once you sign up online, the maternity team will contact you to book your first appointment with a midwife.

You should do this by the 10th week of pregnancy, if possible, but it’s never too late to start. If you're over 10 weeks, refer yourself as soon as you can.

**REMINDER**
South Hermitage Surgery will be closed on Monday 25th August for the Bank Holiday.

If you are feeling unwell over the Bank holiday, please contact NHS 111 online or call 111. In an emergency please contact 999 or visit your nearest A&E

From September, the NHS plans to start sending digital results from the NHS Cervical Screening Programme, utilising the NHS App.

In September, those who have a negative test result will be notified of this by an NHS App message. It will also appear as an NHS App notification. If the NHS App message isn’t read within 72 hours, a letter will be sent as a failsafe.

Abnormal result letters will continue, for the time being, to be sent by post.

You can check your blood pressure at your local community pharmacy. Many pharmacies in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin offer free, quick blood pressure checks with no appointment needed.

There’s also an online NHS tool you can use to help you understand your readings.
