New Year, New Career: A day in the life ✨

What does the first day in a new role at SaTH actually look like? We recently caught up with Nicci, a new starter in the Public Participation team, to hear about her experience joining

"My first day at SaTH was a new experience in many ways. With this job I'm able to walk to work so the commute was relaxing and I was welcomed by a lovely volunteer on the desk at William Farr House.

Then straight into meeting people in the team which is always a bit overwhelming trying to remember who's who and what each person does. I wasn't the only new starter in the team that day so we were able to buddy up doing things like finding Estates for our ID cards. The first few hours and days were spent navigating my way around the computer systems and getting as much of the online training under my belt as I could. The rest will be on the job training and shadowing colleagues.

My previous role was with a large UK charity, so coming from one big organisation to another has lots of similarities. I have spent time with various members of the team who have also given me the tour of our building, RSH and PRH. I'm still finding my way around but feel a bit more able to find places every day and am certainly getting my steps in!

I'm looking forward to learning the job and am excited for future developments within my team and SaTH as a whole."

We wish Nicci the best of luck in her new role with us! 🤝
