Unfortunately our Boxing session was cancelled (rescheduled for October) so we brought our afternoon activity forward and spent the morning baking butter biscuits and gluten free chocolate chip cookies.
The corridors were filled with the smell of buttery vanilla and there is still plenty left even after a considerate amount of "quality testing". All available on the trw and coffee trolley this afternoon. 😃🧑🏻‍🍳🍪

Our Christmas Party this year is 1950s themed and will take place on
Sunday, 7th December
in the afternoon. There will be entertainment, our raffle, a buffet and Marisa's famous mulled wine.
We already have 4 stalls confirmed for our River Meadows Christmas Market at the Party.

Before we go and buy some:
Have you got any wine glasses/sherry glasses you don't use any more? We would love to have them. Busy River Meadows, Marisa's butter fingers and delicate glass ware don't go together well and we find ourselves running low.

We celebrated a back to school day yesterday. Marisa sported a tie, the pe lesson was cancelled due to illness of the teacher (and everyone cheered!), we played numbers bingo in the afternoon and the kitchen put on a school dinner menu complete with fish and chips, baked beans and a tray bake with I've cream and custard. We wish all kids back at school this week a great start to the academic year!
Footnote: when asked what people remember most fondly about going to school, most answered "nothing". 😃

Did you know that Springcare turned 25 on the weekend? Congratulations ! 🎊🎊🎊🎊
To celebrate the kitchen prepared a birthday cake. It's a 3 layer Victoria sponge with strawberry jam, Springcare pink butter icing and gluten free butterfly and flower biscuits with yellow marzipan. Our residents enjoyed it very much. Happy Birthday! Here's to many more! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

A few late updates, apologies for the delay. Last Friday we held our very first Farmers Circle with Jo from Shropshire Rural Support . Jo brought all sorts of things you might use on a farm which sparked a lot of conversation amongst our resident farming folk. It was a huge hit and we are looking forward to our next Farmers circle. This is a chance to meet others from the farming community and chat about farming and everything that comes with farming life. Thank you so much Jo! 😃😍🚜🚜🚜
