It's Children's Mental Health Week!

This year, the theme is 'know yourself, grow yourself.'

'Know yourself, grow yourself' is designed by our friends at Place 2 Be to encourage children, young people and adults to embrace self-awareness and explore what it means to them.

The more we understand about ourselves, the more prepared we are to tackle life's ups and downs.

Our brand new toolkit contains resources to support schools and colleges during Children’s Mental Health Week. Materials for pupils are designed to help them understand their emotions and grow in their ability to connect with others to form strong and healthy relationships. Materials for staff aim to help them encourage their pupils to express their voice and emotions.

Books for Children's Mental Health Week πŸ’™

Children's Mental Health Week 2025, organized by the charity Place2Be, takes place February 3-9 2025, with this year's theme being "Know Yourself, Grow Yourself".

This year the theme Know Yourself, Grow Yourself comes in partnership with Here4You, supported by The Walt Disney Company and the Inside Out 2 characters. The organisers want Children's Mental Health Week 2025 to encourage children, young people and adults to embrace self-awareness and explore what it means to them. This will help them grow and develop resilience to cope with whatever life throws their way πŸ’ͺπŸ’š

For children, books can provide a powerful springboard to learn about themselves and to develop self belief as they navigate the world around them.

Our team has some stellar book collections to help your school to explore the theme. You can view them here πŸ‘‡

The festive period can bring up difficult emotions for many suffering with loss, bereavement, MH issues or financial hardship at this time.

The Finding Your Way story....

At least 1 in 10 children are struggling with their emotions and/or their behaviour.....that's at least 3 children in every school classroom.

In these classrooms, children learn about core subjects like English and Maths but rarely core emotions. Learning about emotions is simple to achieve but will help children gain valuable skills they will need for life.

With this in mind, a series of lesson plans have been written to sit alongside a six-book Finding Your Way series for teachers to use in their classrooms - from nursery to year six!

Finding Your Way is a series of fun picture books specifically created for children focusing on the six core emotions of happiness, sadness, fear, anger, disgust and surprise, linked together by a map called Lifeland.
