What a fab week we've had hear at Maesbrook. We've had the wonderful Exotic Zoo in to see our residents and some of the staffs children got in on the fun as well.

We've also been playing lots of games had having some wonderful treats 🍕🍦🧁

Full job description:
Excellent opportunity for a career in care at one of Shropshire’s Care Homes.

Whilst experience is preferred this is not deemed essential as full training will be given. We can support people who are new to working in social care as you will be work with experienced care workers. Many of our residents require assistance from two staff members this ensures that you gain good skills when coming in to care for the first time.

Starting Rate of Pay £12.60 per hour plus full payment for training.
It is possible to have further training for NVQ to further your Career and progress to a Senior roll with increased salary to reflect your roll.

Maesbrook Care Home is a forty-five bed nursing home based in Shrewsbury, providing twenty-four-hour nursing care, who are currently looking to recruit full and part time care assistants to work DAY and NIGHT shifts. We can provide flexibility with working shifts as we realise you have commitments out side of work eg children. We work on a two weekly rota with alternative weekends there is opportunity to swap shifts with your new found college as well as picking up additional shifts when required.

If you are new to working in social care you can benefit from having support from a designated Senior Carer to help you learn how to be the best you can be. Our Senior staff are long standing staff members whom know the home and resident inside out any questions you would have they will be able to guide you in the right direction. We all work really well as a team and enjoy even spending time together out side of work.

You will have the opportunity to learn from working alongside our qualified nurses when they are providing direct care to our residents too. Its a fact that the staff can very easily identify when there are changes with our resident, when this is noticed they seek out support from our nurses and they can ensure we get the best help and support for the residents.

As care workers you spend lots of time with your resident and tend to get to know them on a personal and professional level.

We pay £12.60 per hour and our DAY SHIFT runs from 0745-2000 and NIGHT SHIFTS run from 20.00-08.00 We operate a week one and two fixed shift pattern with alternate weekend working. You must be flexible with working hours, have a good attention to detail and be kind and caring. We unfortunately do not offer any school hours at present but this can be look at upon interview

You will be taught how to use a picture based electronic system that records what you have done to support your resident through out the day. We are wholly electronic for all our systems and Maesbrook is keen to support you with developing your career.
