Swimming - a classical Pilates exercise and my Thursday morning ladies always hear me banging on about swimming form and posture. Since being away iv taken my daily swim (when I can between having 5yr old 😊 however her daddy has been amazing and always is 🫶)
Anyway onto my point here…

So what’s the point of this exercise?
It builds strength, control, and coordination of the backside of your body.
But more than that, it trains pelvic stability. A crucial aspect of movement that supports and protects your low back. This area needs to be strong and responsive in all planes of motion to enhance your performance and reduce risks of injuries.
I took on the Instagram challenge even more-and to highlight the importance of pelvic stability—| placed a bottle on my lower back and swim as fast as i could without letting it fall.
It was hard work 😂
If I placed a bottle on your low back, could you keep it balanced?
New one to try in class 😉
That’s the kind of control and awareness you want to cultivate in this exercise.
