4 reasons why you should practice the Pilates Mat Work!

The reformer has become symbolic of pilates, but that doesn’t mean the mat work isn’t worth your time.

The Mat work has incredible benefits that is under rated at times. Pilates isn’t just exercise. It helps you live life better!

💫 The Mat work makes you insanely strong. You will strengthen your abdominals which support your entire body. This means less back pain, less hip pain, less shoulder pain, etc! You’ll feel longer and leaner and more connected to your body and in control of your movement,preventing injury.

💫 The Pilates Mat work teaches you the foundations.
There are principles in Pilates and these principles are what makes pilates unique in the fitness world. One of these principles is Breathe. Focusing on breathing techniques while exercising will improve your breathing and circulation in your daily life!

💫 The Mat work can increase your mental clarity.
There is a lot to think about when doing the Mat work but it’s all focused around one theme: Pilates. This helps your brain relax and home in on one subject. This will translate into mental clarity and increased alertness throughout your day!

💫 You can do it ANYWHERE!
As iv always stated, the Mat work does not require the use of equipment always. You can most certainly use props for added support or resistance but it’s not required and always optional to do the work and get a good workout. So you can take the mat work anywhere you go!
