Next week, for a lot of people, will be a fun time full of fun, magic and even laughter. However, for some it is also a difficult time. Just to let everyone know, if you need to vent, or even just someone to lean on, I for one will be here, and I suspect quite a few others who follow this page will be as well. Having been following the Pelicot case. Today's news is that her ex-husband, Dominique Pelicot, has been sentenced by the court in Avignon to 20 years in prison for aggravated r**e, for the violence he inflicted on his ex-wife, Gisèle Pelicot, over nearly 10 years. Dominique Pelicot was found guilty of repeatedly assaulting her, regularly drugging her to render her unconscious, and allowing dozens of strangers to abuse her in their home.

As we know, the trial involved a total of 51 defendants. 49 of them were convicted of aggravated r**e alongside Dominique Pelicot, while another was found guilty of sexual assault.

The trial, and what Gisèle Pelicot endured, has gained significant media attention and social importance. Pelicot said she decided to sue her ex-husband in order to "change society," to symbolically represent all women who are victims of r**e, and to help them feel less alone. At her request, the trial was made public, and she stated, "Maybe one morning a woman who wakes up with no memory will think of my testimony... I want women to say, 'If Madame Pelicot did it, I can too.'"

So, last Friday night when driving home in the dark a Snowy Owl flew across in the dark in front of my car! Tonight when attending an Art Exhibition Opening, I found my Owl painted in oils! By Caroline Jones of Arty Birds . I am so blessed with the right artwork coming my way in my life!

Totem meaning:

If Owl is your personal medicine, no one can deceive you about what they are doing, no matter how they try to disguise or hide it from you. You may be a little frightening to be around, since so many people have ulterior motives which you see right through.

If you are unaware of your medicine power, you may take your keen insights and abilities for granted. Others never do. You may frighten them and reflect their blindness, for you cannot be fooled. Owl medicine people know more about an individual's inner life than that person know about herself or himself.
