New look gratituesday for a new year.
Look out for these posts every Tuesday as a prompt to reflect on what you are grateful for.
Why not start a new tradition?
Grab a jar, any old jar will do! The idea is super simple: every Tuesday, jot down what you're thankful for. Pop that little note into the jar.
Do that every single week, and by the end of the year, you'll have 52 reflections of a great year—all ready for you to read through and enjoy! It's a perfect little mindfulness boost.

💙 Blue Monday 💙
You may have heard it called the most difficult day of the year.
Blue Monday usually falls in January, when the days feel long, the weather is cold, and motivation can be low.
It isn’t scientifically proven, and has been capitalised by marketing companies however, it reflects something many people experience — feeling flat, tired, or emotionally overwhelmed during this time of year.
If today feels hard, you’re not failing.
You’re human.
This is a gentle reminder to:
• Check in with yourself
• Talk about how you’re feeling
• Reach out for support if you need it
You don’t have to carry everything alone.
Support is available, and things can feel lighter with the right help.

You may be feeling overwhelmed right now, that's ok. It feels uncomfortable I understand.
Make time to talk this through, it doesn't have to be with a professional. A good listening ear is valuable.
If you feel you need the objectivity a professional brings. Reach out!

Did you know?
Your mind constantly forgets small details on purpose.
Forgetting things you don't need helps your brain clear out clutter, make smarter decisions, and work better overall.

✅ 7 Days Strong: ✅
You’ve officially crushed the first week of Dry January! 🥳
The hardest part is often the beginning. Hitting this milestone is a huge win for your physical and mental health. Be proud of yourself.
By now, you might already be noticing benefits: better sleep, more energy, or a clearer head.
Keep the Momentum Going:
Week two is all about consistency. When cravings hit:
Remember Your "Why": Keep your goals front and center.
Swap It Out: Have a great mocktail or sparkling water ready.
Be Kind to Yourself: Focus on self-care and rest.

Today think about how much energy you have.
What self care could you do to deposit some energy for a later time?

Gentle reminder...
It doesn't have to be huge.

New Year, New Growth? Let's talk about intentions, not resolutions.
The phrase "New Year, New Me" often comes with pressure to change everything overnight, which can feel overwhelming. Instead of rigid resolutions, what if we embraced a kinder, more achievable approach to personal growth?
This year, you don't have to erase the "old you" or be perfect. It's about progress, not perfection, and taking positive steps toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Counselling can provide a supportive space to:
Explore what truly matters to you and set goals aligned with your values.
Break down larger aspirations into manageable, less daunting steps.
Develop self-compassion and silence your inner critic.
Build resilience and healthy coping strategies.
How will you nurture your growth this year?
If you're feeling overwhelmed by the pressure of the new year, remember you're not alone. Reach out and let's explore your journey together.

I am a Person Centred Counsellor, based in Shrewsbury town centre, at The Centre For Integral Health. I also volunteer at a nearby counselling service.
Person Centred Therapy, relies on the relationship between counsellor and client, you will be fully accepted and shown unconditional positive regard, (UPR) congruence, and empathy. Receiving these conditions will enable you to see yourself in a new light. I believe that you have to ability to thrive at life and I am passionate about helping you achieve this.
Person Centred Therapy is a non directive approach, this means that I wont come to the sessions with an agenda. It's a fluid way of working ensuring all of your challenges are talked through, whether they are different from existing topics or not. It is also a way of working by encouraging and empowering you to become in control of your life. We will work in the here and now and will discuss ways of being present rather than consumed with the past or future.
I am a friendly, approachable, considerate person and offer confidential support without judgement.
Taking the first step?
Taking the first step towards counselling is courageous. Opening up to a stranger can be scary. Clients have told me in the past the first step was the most daunting, however it got easier.
After my initial message/call from you we can arrange a time that is convenient for the both of us. I will then give you a passcode for the door (This changes weekly for safety reasons) and you can sit and relax in the waiting area. There is plenty of reading material and information about other services we offer here. I will meet you there and we will walk to our room together. Its as simple as that. How much you share or don’t share is completely up to you, this is your time to spend however you want to, I will not push or probe.
I ask for a £10 deposit to secure the room payable via BACS this is refunded on our last session unless a session was cancelled too late.
