BREATHE 💕

Pay attention to your breathing as you go through your day.
Are you breathing deep down into your abdomen? Are your ribs expanding with each breath?
Are your breaths slow, smooth and even?

All three answers should be yes.
If you are breathing rapidly, unevenly or shallowly (into your upper chest), you are almost sure to be in the stress response. Likewise, if you are periodically holding your breath, you are suppressing painful emotions. Sit quietly with yourself and - without judgement - notice what you are feeling.

A simple meditation for you to enjoy that will help reduce anxiety and other negative emotions such as anger or frustration,

close your eyes and focus on the sensation of your breath as it moves in and out of your nostrils.
When you get distracted by thoughts - and you will, again and again - gently pull your attention back to your breath. Allow your mind to become more still.

It generally takes at least 8 minutes to get into a meditative state, so aim to meditate for 15-20 minutes, daily or twice daily if possible.

When your mind tells you that you are ‘not doing it right’ or ‘that you have more urgent things to do’ treat those thoughts as the distractions they are, and bring yourself back to your breath.

1. Inhale through your nose as slowly, deeply and smoothly as you can, without strain
2. Exhale through your nose as slowly, deeply and completely as you can, focusing on your navel
3. Before you inhale again, pause by saying to yourself ‘one thousand, two thousand’
4. Smoothly repeat steps 1-3, until your breathing has slowed down and you feel calm

You could also breathe in positive qualities such as joy, compassion, hope or peace ☮️ and breath out tension, worries or discouragement while doing steps 1-4

Eka Pada Rajakapotasana, or One-Legged King Pigeon Pose, is an advanced seated yoga asana to deepen your backbend yoga practice, and improve flexibility in your lower body and spine. This advanced yoga pose is a combination of backbend and hip-opener yoga.

🧘🏼‍♀️Why it’s special:

• Opens up the hips beautifully
• Stretches the thighs, groin, and back
• Looks graceful and serene—perfect for a dreamy purple-pink aesthetic

It’s a seated pose where one leg is bent in front of you and the other extended straight back, with the torso upright and arms reaching overhead or back to hold the foot. It’s both elegant and powerful.

What is Ho’oponopono?

Ho’oponopono is a traditional Hawaiian practice of reconciliation, forgiveness, and healing — both with others and within yourself.
The word ho‘oponopono roughly translates to “to make right” or “to correct”.
It comes from ancient Hawaiian culture, where it was originally used as a communal process to restore harmony in families or communities after conflict. Traditionally, a family elder or healer (kahuna lapa‘au) would guide participants through discussions, confessions, forgiveness, and prayer until balance was restored.

Modern Adaptation
In recent decades, a modernized, self-help version has become popular, especially through the teachings of Morrnah Simeona and later Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len. This version emphasizes self-responsibility and inner clearing to heal your relationship with the world.
The modern process is often simplified into four phrases:

I’m sorry – Acknowledging responsibility (even for things beyond your conscious awareness).
Please forgive me – Asking for forgiveness from yourself, others, or the divine.
Thank you – Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to heal.
I love you – Sending unconditional love to the situation or person.
