Huge congratulations are in order for a very special milestone at Springbank Care Home! 🌟

We are absolutely delighted to celebrate John-Paul (JP), our Housekeeping Assistant, who has achieved his 5-year long service award. Our Home Manager, Lisa Pickles, had the wonderful pleasure of presenting him with his award yesterday to mark this fantastic achievement. 🏆

JP is such a vital part of our team, and we want to say a massive thank you for his unwavering dedication and hard work over the last five years. He plays a huge role in keeping our home a beautiful environment for our residents, always doing so with a smile and a friendly word for everyone he meets. 🧼✨

We had such a wonderfully busy day yesterday here at Springbank Care Home as our salon was in full swing! 💇‍♀️

Our lovely hairdresser Lisa was working her magic all day, and we think she did an incredible job. It was so heartwarming to see the salon buzzing with activity and to watch our ladies leave their appointments with such big smiles. There is nothing quite like a fresh style to make you feel like a million dollars, and we are so grateful to Lisa for making everyone look and feel absolutely amazing! ✨

What a wonderful week of variety and learning we have had at Springbank Care Home! 🏠✨

We kicked things off on Monday with a relaxing morning catching up on the latest news with our newspaper session, followed by an energetic afternoon of exercise to get everyone moving 🗞️🏃‍♂️

On Tuesday, our "Best Teas and Coffee" morning had a very interesting twist! Our Head Chef, Eve, has been completing online training regarding fortified diets and how we can boost protein and calories in our residents' favourite treats. To put her learning into practice, we held a fortified drink tasting session 🥤🍓 We sampled two variations of strawberry milkshake, a dairy-free banana smoothie, and a Biscoff ice cream shake. The Biscoff shake was the runaway winner, though the banana smoothie didn't quite hit the mark for us! It was a brilliant way to combine our morning brew with some nutritional fun. We also enjoyed a lovely creative afternoon with a crochet workshop led by the talented Wendy 🧶🧤

Yesterday was Wellbeing Wednesday, and we certainly felt the love with a special Valentine’s Day raffle featuring free tickets for our hard-working staff! ❤️🎟️ Our residents also enjoyed a fantastic trip out to Many Hands 25 C.I.C at Silsden Town Hall, which is always a firm favourite 🚐🏛️

Back at the home, the energy was high with a morning quiz followed by some lively musical exercise using instruments on both Bluebell and Primrose units 🎶🥁 To top off a busy day, we headed out for a lovely afternoon visit to Woodbank Garden Centre to admire the displays 🪴🌸

What a lovely way to wrap up last week here at Springbank Care Home! 🌸

We finished the week on a real high, starting with a very busy Thursday morning. Everyone was focused and determined as we tackled some tricky jigsaws together, which is always a fantastic way to spend a morning. Later in the day, we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon out at the Thursday Club, catching up with friends and enjoying the lively atmosphere. 🧩

The creativity didn't stop there, as our Saturday craft session was a huge success. We spent the morning folding beautiful origami bookmarks, with many residents choosing to theme theirs around their favourite animals. It was a delight to see such a colourful variety of designs being created! 🐾

We are all feeling refreshed and ready for the new week ahead after such a positive end to the last one. 🎨

The new weekly schedule has arrived at Springbank Care Home! 🎶 We have a fantastic variety of events lined up that are sure to keep us all entertained. We want to remind everyone that these activities are open to our residents, their families, and friends. It is a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time together in a relaxed and friendly environment. We look forward to seeing you there! 🌟

🌟 January Star Awards at Springbank Care Home 🌟

We are absolutely delighted to celebrate our Star Award winners for January! It has been a fantastic start to the year, and we couldn’t be prouder of the dedication shown by our incredible team.

Our Winners: Sarah & The Housekeeping Team 🏆

A huge congratulations to Sarah and the entire Housekeeping Team! They were nominated for their exceptional hard work during our recent Infection Prevention Control (IPC) inspection.

The initial feedback was excellent, and this award recognises their unwavering dedication to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety throughout our home. Thank you for everything you do to keep our residents safe and our environment sparkling!

Well done to April, who was nominated for her inspiring work on the ‘Through Our Eyes’ exhibition.

April has been busy creating a stunning display of life histories, blending original vintage photos with ‘now’ photos to create a beautiful, moving look at our residents' journeys. It is a wonderful way to celebrate our residents and has brought so much joy to the home.

🌏 From China to Valentine’s Creations at Springbank 🎨

We had a fantastic day of discovery and creativity yesterday! Our morning started with a fascinating "armchair travel" session as we headed off to China. It was wonderful to learn all about the vibrant traditions and customs of the New Year celebrations from the comfort of our lounge.

The afternoon took a more romantic turn as we got stuck into some Valentine’s arts and crafts. There was plenty of glitter, glue, and talent on display as we began preparing some lovely handmade decorations and cards for the upcoming week. It was a lovely way to spend the day together, sharing stories and getting stuck into something creative.

🍰 Afternoon Tea at Springbank Care Home ☕️

Our talented kitchen team has truly outdone themselves today! The home is smelling absolutely wonderful, and the tea trolley is looking amazing!

We are completely spoilt for choice this afternoon with two incredible homemade bakes. We have a cosy, spiced Apple and Cinnamon Crumble cake alongside a light and sweet Coconut Meringue cake topped with a cherry. 🍏🥥🍒

There is nothing quite like a proper cuppa and a slice of something homemade to brighten up the day. A huge thank you to our wonderful chefs for keeping us all well-fed and very happy!
