Ultrasound therapy is a non-invasive technique, that uses high-frequency sound waves to generate deep heat and mechanical vibrations in soft tissues. It is used to reduce pain, inflammation, and muscle spasms, while increasing circulation and promoting tissue healing in injuries like ligament sprains and tendonitis. Treatments typically last 5–10 minutes.

This is therapeutic ultrasound (for healing) and different to that used during pregnancy.

What will it involve?
Gel will be applied either over the area to be treated, or over the treatment head of the machine to
help maintain contact between the treatment head and the treatment area. This may feel cold.
Once the machine is switched on you will only feel the pressure of the treatment head over your skin. In some circumstances, you may feel a light vibration
or a slight warmth.

During a Body Massage Treatment, if necessary I will ultrasound any area that’s causing pain as part of your Treatment.
Or if you prefer you can just come to me just for Ultrasound for a cost of £25.

Another Treatment that I offer is Reflexology, which is a relaxing and gentle therapy that can promote deep relaxation and overall well-being. The ultimate effect is a reduction in stress and tension which lets your body and mind reset and rebalance, rebuilding good health and improving resilience.

Reflexology works by approaching the body holistically by applying gentle and repeated pressure to key reflex regions (zones) on your feet. These zones correspond with specific body structures, organs and organ systems through meridians or channels. If an illness or stress occurs in the body, the corresponding energy meridian/channel can be affected, and that structure or organ may then start to present with symptoms.
Reflexology is an effective treatment that works to release these areas of dysfunction and helps restore the body’s natural balance. The gentle and rhythmic techniques instil a level of relaxation that can help to result in lower stress and a feeling of euphoric well-being. In fact, many patients simply fall asleep for a short while during the session and awake feeling refreshed, recharged and rejuvenated.

Wondering whether to have a Hot Stone Massage but not sure what’s involved❓

It’s a deeply relaxing and therapeutic treatment that uses smooth, heated, water-treated stones—usually volcanic basalt— to deeply soothe muscles. The heat increases blood flow, reduces tension, and alleviates pain, allowing for deeper tissue work. Small stones can be placed between the toes & bigger stones placed on different areas or used to massage muscles deeper.

I offer either a Full Body Treatment or the Back or as an add on to a Reflexology or Facial.

Have you ever heard the term “healing crisis” or perhaps you've experienced one yourself?

A healing crisis (also known as a healing reaction or cleansing period) is a temporary intensification of symptoms that can occur after a reflexology session—or other holistic therapies. Not everyone experiences them but some do.

Because many people associate good health with feeling good, this response can be confusing or even discouraging. But rest assured: a healing reaction is often a positive sign. It means your body is responding to the therapy by initiating its natural healing processes and beginning to rebalance itself.

While it may feel uncomfortable or even alarming at times, this reaction suggests that deeper healing may be underway—your body is working hard to release stored tension, toxins, or energy imbalances.

Symptoms may include fatigue, headaches, soreness of muscles or emotional sensitivity after treatment and may last for 24-48 hours as the body adjusts and releases stored toxins.

I hope this explanation helps you feel more at ease if you’ve encountered this reaction. It’s a natural part of the healing journey.
