We’re here for them and their families with expert clinical, emotional and practical support at every step – from first diagnosis and for as long as w
e’re needed. By their side when they feel isolated, helping to create joy in family life during challenging times and making precious memories. Demelza believes in care that doesn’t back down. Demelza stands with Hospice UK as they call on the government for fair, sustainable funding for the sector.
Hospices are under pressure like never before and we are calling on the government to take urgent action through Hospice UK's four-point plan, which includes fully funding the specialist palliative care provided by hospices so they can continue delivering the vital care that children and families rely on.
Today, hospice staff from across England will gather in Westminster to demand urgent action on funding.
With services cut, beds unused and demand rising, the message is clear: we cannot wait any longer.

🎨💛 359 art therapy sessions delivered - each one helping a child express what words can’t.
Through our creative arts therapies, children and families at Demelza explore emotions, build confidence and find comfort through creativity.
From painting to sensory art, these sessions offer a safe and supportive space when it’s needed most.
We’re proud that our Tenterden Demelza charity shop has been selected to take part in this fantastic event for the fourth year running - celebrating sustainable living, reducing plastic waste and showcasing eco‑friendly choices.

Our Mission:
At Demelza, we believe every child and young person who has a terminal condition should receive the care and attention they need to live the most fulfilling life they can. We aim to provide specialist care and support to babies, children, and young people, to give them and their families the opportunity to build memories, for however long they have together. Demelza’s care covers diagnosis, day to day family life, times of crisis, end of life, and through bereavement, providing support for all those affected.

Demelza provides specialist care and emotional support for children with terminal conditions and their loved ones, so they can enjoy their time together as a family, for as long as they have.
We care for children with a range of different conditions, some of which are very complex and so rare, they have no name.

These services are currently provided through Demelza Kent, our hospice in Sittingbourne, Demelza South East London, a six bedded hospice in Eltham, and Demelza Community, our hospice at home service operating in East Sussex.
As a charity, we’re almost entirely dependent on the generosity of our supporters to provide the funds that keep our services going.
