Non native Bluebells, daffodils and snow drops at Deerton 😞🥲- I was hoping to post pictures of our beautiful native bluebells at Deerton along with a few other spring bulbs but unfortunately we have many of the Spanish non native invasive bluebell species appearing now amongst other spring flowers.
With this in mind I have a delivering today from Naturescape with our delicate native bluebells, wild daffodils and snowdrops - I will be at Deerton removing non native varieties and replacing with native varieties.
We are creating a nature reserve for the future with ONLY Native planting so please be mindful when planting flowers-give me a call for advice if you are unsure as we will need to remove any inappropriate, non native planting - thank you for your support and understanding🥰

Delivery from Naturescape today 😀

We have beautiful native wild flowers at Deerton hidden in amongst the non native varieties:
I was recently gifted a flower press by a dear Friend - went straight to Deerton to collect a few examples of our beautiful native flowers - see picture below.
Whilst there I noticed an abundance of non native daffodils, snowdrops, hyacinths and bluebells (to mention but a few) overtaking the burial area, unfortunately as per our rules and ethos we will need to remove these and replace with native species in the coming weeks.
I have native wild daffodils, bluebells, snowdrops, wild anemones, snakehead fritillary being delivered from naturescape in the next few weeks ..unfortunately the grape hyacinth was out of stock.
Please be mindful when planting at both Deerton and Riverview Natural Burial Grounds -our goal/ethos is to establish both Deerton and Riverview as dedicated spaces / nature reserves for native wild flowers and plants - this initiative will in return attract various insects, butterflies, bees, birds, small mammals etc by nurturing their natural habitat and creating safe havens/ oasis in Kent .
Please help us by planting native wild flowers and bulbs … the benefits will immeasurable.
Some examples of Native wild flowers are:
Grape hyacinth, cowslips, oxlip, Tenby daffodils, sweet purple and white violets, wild cyclamen, lesser celandine, lily of the valley, wild tulips - NATURESCAPE is a good point of reference!!
Thank you and love to you all - Sian

Riverview Natural Burial Ground -Our Annual tree planting day:
What an amazing day spent with our wonderful families planting a tree on their loved ones grave, the burial ground was bussing with up lifting chatter and excitement for what was to come, how the site will evolve and blossom with the planting of their trees !
Remarkably it didn’t rain and we had sunshine albeit later on in the afternoon, but most welcome.
Our lovely Lynne did an amazing job selling our homemade cakes and refreshments raising £227.55 towards another bench👏 not to mention Pat, our lovely volunteer who helped a few families dig in their trees and last but not least mustn’t forget to mention Hudson and Bailey, Lynnes wonderful dogs whom are up for a cuddle 🐶

We are extremely proud to announce that Kent Natural Burials have won the Regional People’s Award 2026 for the best Natural Burial Grounds (for both Deerton and Riverview) as well as the best Natural Burial Grounds in the UK!!! So thank you to all of you who sent in your feed back forms to the Association of Natural Burial Grounds - these awards are particularly important as they are based on our families feedback detailing the feel and look of our sites, provision of support and guidance from our staff, green credentials and value for money.
