The following certifications and training sessions will be conducted throughout the week:

FAW - First Aid at Work (Comprehensive clinical and practical skills)

AED - Automated External Defibrillator (Life-saving cardiac arrest response)

Fire Warden - Fire safety leadership, prevention, and emergency duties

Evacuation Chair - Specialist training for assisting those with mobility issues during emergencies

It’s been a massive week for the S13 team as we continue our mission to upskill the incredible teams at Haven. Safety isn't just a checkbox for us; it’s about ensuring every guest and team member is in the safest possible hands.

🚑 First Aid & AED Training Highlights from Haven Hopton Holiday Village.

The candidates are now qualified to handle a range of medical emergencies, specifically tailored to the holiday park environment:

AED Proficiency: Hands-on training with Automated External Defibrillators to ensure rapid response in the event of cardiac arrest.

Incident Management: Managing casualties in high-traffic areas like the SplashZone, Marina Bar, and the new J D Wetherspoon facility.

Secondary Surveys: Assessing illnesses and injuries beyond immediate life threats.

🔥 Fire Warden Responsibilities

With the park’s complex layout—including the Adventure Village and indoor/outdoor pools—the wardens focused on:

Evacuation Procedures: Effective management of assembly points for guests in various accommodation types (caravans and luxury lodges).

Prevention: Identifying hazards within the entertainment and food venues.

Equipment: Practical knowledge of fire extinguisher types and their specific applications.

Glad to be back home for a few days! It was a marathon of a week, but there’s nothing quite like that "mission accomplished" feeling when you leave a site knowing it’s significantly safer than when you arrived.
Training for FAW (First Aid at Work), AED, and FW (Fire Warden/Safety) at places as busy as Blue Dolphin and Far Grange is no small feat. Those teams are on the front lines of guest safety, so having "enthusiastic candidates" makes your job a lot more rewarding—and their future guests a lot more secure.
It’s great to hear Haven is investing so heavily in their people. Now to Enjoy a well-earned downtime at home!

What You’ll Need
To hit the ground running, you must be self-sufficient and ready to roll:
• ✅ Qualified: Recognised teaching/assessing qualification (AET or equivalent) + 3-day FAW Certificate
• ✅ Versatile: Certified and experienced in delivering AED and Fire Warden training.
• ✅ Equipped: Your own transport and training kit (manikins, etc.).
• ✅ Adaptable: The holiday industry moves fast! We need trainers who can occasionally handle short-notice bookings.

I’ve just finished up an incredible training stint at the Louma Country Hotel in Bridport. Working alongside the amazing Marie Leather, we put the team through their paces with FAW, AED, Fire Warden, and MHFA courses.

Not only is the resort absolutely beautiful, but the team there is top-notch. They are now officially qualified and ready to keep their guests and colleagues safe.

I recently concluded a First Aid at Work (FAW) and AED training session at Dunston Hall. It was a pleasure to work with such an engaged group of professionals who were truly committed to mastering these life-saving skills. A particular highlight was the team exercise presentations—the creativity and humor brought to the sessions made the learning experience both memorable and effective.

Congratulations to the entire team on successfully passing their assessments! Dunston Hall is now even better equipped with a dedicated group of certified First Aiders. Thank you all for your hard work.
