Yewdale Counselling Service is a charity that was created to serve the people of West Lancashire. Yewdale has been listening to, respecting and valuing local people for over twenty five years. Counselling is a talking therapy, delivered by trained professionals, that offers you a safe and confidential environment to talk about your problems. Through this special kind of talking and listening relationship, you will begin to see more clearly what is happening in your life, and you will know what decisions you need to make and how to make them. You may be aware that there are many different kinds of therapy available, and here at Yewdale, we have therapists who offer a range of approaches. Whilst the majority of our therapists are Person-Centred Counsellors, we also offer Cognitive Behavioural Counselling. In addition to this, some of our counsellors offer a combination of approaches and tailor the counselling to the needs of the client. Many of our counsellors are fully qualified and others are nearing the end of a long and demanding training programme. Yewdale is committed to providing a first class service to everyone who uses us, and to offering opportunities for trainee counsellors to build on their experience. All counsellors are carefully monitored and supported to provide you with a good service. All counsellors hold professional insurance. We do ask our clients to consider making a contribution towards the cost of their counselling, however, nobody will be turned away by our service if they cannot afford to contribute. We estimate the cost of a one hour session to be around £30, and any contribution made toward this cost, however small, will be gratefully received. We do receive some funding from the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) towards our costs, but this money is never enough to fully fund the Service, and because of this, we rely heavily on your kind donations.
